HTML editor doesn't work
I had a query about using the html editor so was trying to send the inquirer a mail using it to describe its functions... having set a different background colour and included an image and a hyperlink, and some text in bold, italic and underlined I tried to send the mail. Not a hope! Each time I try and do something with it - e.g. Send, Save to Outbox or Save as Draft I get an access violation and the mail just sits there. Even if I try to do anything else to the mail after this I get the AV - even trying to copy/paste the text to another mail to start again gives this. All I can do with is it to delete the mail. :-( I'm sure this is _not_ how the thing is supposed to work. I only upped to this beta as Marek suggested it would fix my 0kb attachment problem under v2.03. JA Ouch... not very nice. Does this affect the plain text editor as JA well? No just the html/plain and the html editors - this is when those options are selected from within the message editor window - not set globally. Global settings for editor is plain text (microed) as I don't use html in mail myself - it was only because I was answering a query that I tried it and found it fell over. The strange thing is that after closing TB! and going off to do other stuff I came back later and tried again with the saved message (the auto-saved one that TB! sticks in the outbox) and it worked just fine. I hadn't rebooted the PC in between - just closed TB! and left it for a few hours, yet closing TB! earlier and reopening it a couple of mins later didn't solve the problem. -- Cheers, Anne Flying high with The Bat! v2.01.26 on Windows 98 4.10 Build Visit The Bat! If so, I'd suspect you may have been sent - like someone else was earlier - a v1.x key by mistake, as v2 doesn't use a password. At least mine didn't ask for one when I entered in the details from the e-mail I received. I'd suggest asking where you got the key from to check if it's the correct one. -- Cheers, Anne The Bat Email - Unofficial Support Forum: http://the-bat-forums.donzeigler.com Current beta is 2.00 | Using TBBETA information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Sometimes it does and other times it works properly - I'm trying to figure out when it works incorrectly. -- Cheers, Anne The Bat Email - Unofficial Support Forum: http://the-bat-forums.donzeigler.com Testing The Bat! 2.0 Beta/5 on Windows 98 4 Current beta is 2.0b5 | Using TBBETA information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Links in HTML messages not clickable
I've been testing the html message editor and can't make clickable links within it without including html tags to make the links work. For instance, if I type an URL in the plain text editor like this http://www.ritlabs.com it automatically becomes a clickable link, but to make it clickable in the html editor I have to write the tags like this a href=http://www.ritlabs.com;www.ritlabs.com/a. The same applies to mailto: links - in the plain text editor they are automatically clickable - in the html editor I have to add the html tags thus, a href=mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED][EMAIL PROTECTED]/a to make them active. Another strange thing is that if I add an URL/mailto: in the html editor and don't show the URL/mail address but use some other text as the link then when I view it in the plain text editor the link is not active. e.g. if I put into the html editor a href=http://www.ritlabs.com;The Bat! Homepage/a then the clickable link will be The Bat! Homepage, but in the plain text version of the mail that just shows as plain text and not as a clickable link as did the URL in paragraph 1. Is this how the html editor is meant to work or not? and why do the links work in the plain text versions and not in the html ones? -- Cheers, Anne The Bat Email - Unofficial Support Forum: http://the-bat-forums.donzeigler.com Testing The Bat! 2.0 Beta/5 on Windows 98 4 Current beta is 2.0b4 | Using TBBETA information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
