Re: Image viewer: Bug when closing fullscreen mode with ESC

2008-03-25 Thread Rick Grunwald
 Hello tbbeta,

if you click on 'Fullscreen', the image viewer uses the complete screen
   to display the picture.

BUT if you close the fullscreen mode with ESC, the viewer goes wild!

There is no chance to enter the fullscreen mode again unless you close
and reopen the picture. If you choose the fullscreen mode for a second
time (after having closed it with ESC), you will get a picture without a
menu but with a visible background (desktop or other apps) around it.

If you close the fullscreen mode either by double click or by context
menu, the viewer behaves as expected!

   Confirmation?

CONFIRMED!

RG In the preview pane if you right click on the message you have the

RG However if you move to another message they no longer show even

RG Confirm anyone?

Sorry not confirmed here, using PTV or RTV.

It is working. in plain text it changes the message in HTML there is
no apparent change but it either adds it to the TEXT tab or adds
another tab called HEADERS. I guess I'm a little slow today :)

click highlights the tab itself. This happens without any exception.

I have SEEN that behavior a few versions back but currently a click

Re: A draft folder

2008-03-05 Thread Rick Grunwald
PVN years. The Parked in Outbox concept is not intuitive and I cannot
PVN recall a single user figuring this out on their own.

 I don't actually buy that.

Fact: you are editing a message. You have 4 disposition buttons at the
top (and menu options). Hover help tells you Save as draft on the
3rd button. Every single user can figure that much out

I buy that. It may have been a good solution when people had a couple
of mail accounts but these days some people have dozens. If someone
uses drafts extensively they are scattered over several inboxes. The
way most people use email, it just makes sense to consolidate them
into one place.

We already have the new feature that allows us to change what account
is used to send and email from within the editor. If you change the
account, where will it save the draft? ... or re-save it?

 Hello Rick,

The way most people use email, it just makes sense to consolidate them
 into one place.

For example as shown in attachment? :)

 - Single draft folder for any number of accounts.
 - No risk of accidentally sending any unfinished messages.
 - No need to park messages (even as draft)
 - Once finished, messages will be queued/sent on appropriate account.
 - Works a treat.
 - ® Patent pending, © MAU :)

Good points. It reflects the changing ways that people use email.

2008-03-01 Thread Rick Grunwald
 Hello Rick,

Do you mean that if a TB installation is shared by several users, each
user should have a different set of colour groups?

 Yes

Yes, that would be desirable but impossible with current design. Since
users can share accounts (and therefore folders) it would require that
messages could be assigned more than just one colour group. And this is
not possible, I wish it was, that's why I launched the wish for
Bookmarks a long time ago: https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=6057

I fully support your idea of bookmarks. :)
When I say each user I would mean each profile or each login
My wife and I use one login to access our computer and read email so
I would not expect The Bat to handle 2 sets of color groups or
bookmarks for this manner of using the computer. If she was to log
off windows and log in as herself then load the bat I would expect
her to be able to have her own tools.

 Hello Rick,

I have a message that incorrectly threaded with another from last
August. I cannot break the threading

Are you threading just by Reference, by Subject or by Reference plus
 Subject?

Why do you think is it incorrectly Threaded?

What is the Message-ID of the message it is threaded to?

What is the 'In-Reply-To:' header, if it has any, of the the message
 wrongly threaded?

What is the 'References:' header, if it has any, of the the message
 wrongly threaded?

Could it be that you threaded it manually?

Can someone post the directions once again to make sure I am doing it
correctly? I [shift] drag it to the left and get the message OK to
remove the threading to which I answer OK but nothing happens.

You don't seem to be doing anything wrong but, the fact that threading
is not removed may depend on your answer to above questions.

I created a new email yesterday. I received a reply today. It
attached to a message with the same subject but otherwise totally
unrelated that was sent back in August.
That folder is threaded by Reference + Subject
One has References the older one does not
The message IDs are totally different
The only thing in common is the subject

I have had things thread incorrectly before (very rare!) but I can't
UNthread these

Yes, that is the 'stupid' way threading by Subject works. Because it is
NOT threading, it is and should be called 'Grouping' or something
 similar.

The only way to break the threading is to thread it to something
 else. Odd ...

Think of it, just for illustration purposes, as it was a virtual folder
filtering on an specific subject. How can you prevent a message from

 Hello Rick,

That folder is threaded by Reference + Subject

Change it to just by Reference.

Thanks - that fixed it but I remember when I first started using the
Bat, an experienced user advised me to set it up reference + subject

I am sure it wasn't me, I would have never suggested that and now you
 know why :)

The thing is it wouldn't let me BREAK the threading unless I threaded
it to something else - they the original with the same subject would
disappear

All good points! However supporting editing the subject line is

Re: Wrong mail server

2008-02-25 Thread Rick Grunwald
 Hello Rick,

I just hit a situation where I created a message from a gmail address
and it failed in sending as the it was trying to go out of my default
non-gmail account. That never happened before

A few days ago I wrote in a message:

 ,- [ ]
 | So, let's all be a little more rigorous when testing and precise when
 | reporting.
 `-

I know you were not specifically testing something, it's something that
happened while doing normal use of TB.

Now, let me see if I understood.
 - You created a new message and used a gmail address in From.
 - Because you had focus in your default account, when you sent the
message it was sent through this account, right?.
 - No problem so far. You can normally send via an account and server
with a different email address. Most (or many ISPs) allow this.
 - But you say that Send failed. What does 'failed' actually mean? It
was not sent? Did you see any error response from the server in your
 account log?
 - It could be that the server (and ISP) of your main account does not
allow to send with a From address that does not belong to their domain.
I have seen this in the past.

Or is it all that because you used a gmail.com address in From you
expected that it would be sent through your Gmail account?

A Folder outside of any account was highlighted
I created a new message
The message had the correct FROM address (same as I use in this group)
The message was using an ISP account: my default account
The icon on the status bar was correct but I had missed that as this
has never happened before
Failed means that the ISP wouldn't accept it; I got an error message
I changed the account on the status bar to the correct account and it
went out

hmmm - I am not having that issue here ...

Take a look again at the attached screenshots in Art's message:

 - Backup your tbuser.def (Prevention is better than cure. ;-))
 - Arrange your toolbars like here: topbar-40147x.png
 - Now, try to re-arrange them like here: topbar-40142x.png

Are you able to manage that? - I am not … The toolbars do not dock
 like in topbar-40142x.png.

OK - but I don't ever remember trying to dock one on the same line as
the menu items - I currently cannot do this

I believe there is a regex template in the library for this. It won't
clean the subject in incoming messages, but in the replies you send.
Check out the link at the bottom of each posting on this list, there
is a lot of valuable stuff there.

I want to clean up received mail so it is more understandable as I
look at the list. I DO clean them up when sending. Even if a template
would work for incoming messages it wouldn't be as flexible as simply
being able to edit the subject line

 Hello, Jens!

 This template replaces ... (3 dots) with … ([alt]+0133).

 ...…

Confirmed, the 3 dots are not handled as a real word - but
normally a bundle of symbols are no word at all?

Who said, that QT names have to consist of real words? And again:
The QTs worked this way until version 4.0.x.

And again again: For me this was the fastest way to replace such
strings like ... - … or (r) - ® and so on. I would prefer an
AutoCorrection List like in OpenOffice.org! E.g. if you type in OOo
(r), it will be *automatically* replaced with ®.

Maybe I will file a wish to Bugtracker.

 Someone willing to support? ;-)

Supported

Put something like this in your Reply/Forward templates:

 %Subject=Re:
 %SetPattRegExp=(?i)\A\:?(\s*(Ответ|re|ha|rcpt|fwd|fw|aw|sv|antwort)(\[\d*\])?:\s*)*\s*(.*?)(\Z)%RegExpBlindMatch=%OSubj%SubPatt=4

Many of us want to edit the subject on RECEIVED emails
