Re: [The Bat! 3.5.0.17] Problems with special characters (äöüß) in recipient name

2005-06-04 Thread MAU
Hello Volker,

Yep, it's exactly the same problem.

I think I forgot to mention here on the list that I did open a BT
report. Please see https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=4723

Hello, Thomas!

However, due to the comma in the name and the missing quote marks
(see RFC2822), the part before the comma was interpreted as an
address and that was invalid. So the message didn't get sent.

So, the problem is not the umlauts but the comma.

And the special characters (umlauts) cause the problem with the comma
and the missing double quotes. If you reply to an address in the
format lastname, firstname [EMAIL PROTECTED] *without* special
characters, everything is OK. See also ...

2005-06-03 Thread Thomas Fernandez
Hallo Volker,

The message below did not get sent. The To address looked like this:

Ahrendt, Volker [EMAIL PROTECTED] (äöüß)

However, due to the comma in the name and the missing quote marks (see
RFC2822), the part before the comma was interpreted as an address and
that was invalid. So the message didn't get sent.

So, the problem is not the umlauts but the comma.

Cheers,

Thomas.

A How many entries do you see, one [1] or two [2]?

A [1] Ahrendt, Volker (äöüß) [EMAIL PROTECTED]

A [2] Ahrendt
A Volker (äöüß) [EMAIL PROTECTED]

One when I hit Reply All, and that is number [2]. However, it looks
fine in the To line itself, with the special characters added at the
