The BT-entry says will be solved in version 9.0.16.10, which is not
released yet. Just wait for that version, update and check if it is
fixed there.

The BT entry says resolved, but it is NOT resolved over here.

Applies only when clcking on a link in HTML view, the first time after
opening TB!. I click the IE away, and next time, it's OK.

I've been thinking about this and I think if The Bat just striped the
target=_blank it would solve the problem. All the big guys are putting
it in because so much of the email is browser based and it makes sense
there, but the system browser sees that and launches a new window even though
it's running in a place where it should be handing the instruction
off to The Bat.

Thanks for your reply. Glad to hear I am not alone. I am quite sure it
is related to The Bat. Why does it happen with v9.0.16 and NOT with
v8.8.9?

Uninstalling IE may be a good workaround, but it does not address
whatever difference there is between 8.8.9 and 9.0.16.

Happens on the first, but not on the second. I wonder if it's Windows
misunderstanding the target="_blank"directive?

And as someone else pointed out it only happens when the system
browser is used for viewing.

Thanks again. Any way, remember that in my first message I say "most

not mean 'always'.

Yes it was happening here, although I'm not sure it was related to The Bat.

I forgot something important. It happens no matter the setting in
Option/Preferences/Viewer/Edito/HTML Viewer.

What makes a difference is the 'HTML Viewer Switch' on the header pane
of the message. If set to OS Viewer it will fail (open 2 browsers) and
if switched to the Bat Viewer, ONLY the default browser will open, and
not IE.

9.0.16: Clicking a URL in HTML message opens two browsers.

2020-01-12 Thread MAU
Hello all,

I noticed with v9.0.16, but I think this may have started a few
versions ago, not sure when. What I am sure (I have just verified it)
is that it does not happen with version 8.8.9.

The issue is that if while viewing an HTML message you click on a URL,
most of the times two browsers are opened simultaneously: Edge or
Chrome, whichever is default, and also Internet Explorer. Both
browsers will show the same page.

Has anybody else noticed this or something similar?

As I have said above, it does NOT happen with v8.8.9.
