Re: 9.3.4.16 Broken Signature with GnuPG

2021-06-18 Thread Gwen
Hello Stefan,

The command line call by batch file to extenal GnuPG always can cause issues.

Why is not GPGME lib used for encryption/decryption/signing/verifying
as proposed by GnuPG devs?

Can you tell why?

This happens with every HTML message that needs scrolling. Here's an example
with horizontal scrollbar:
<https://eternallybored.org/misc/imgs/thebat/scroll1.gif>

And an example without a horizontal scrollbar:
<https://eternallybored.org/misc/imgs/thebat/scroll2.gif>

Pay attention to the line with highlighted text (blue background) in both
examples. If you wish, I can still send these two messages to you, but the same
thing happens with every long HTML message.

It might be due to my DPI level - I've got Windows set to 225%.

Noticed a problem in the HTML viewer: spacebar scrolls too far if there's a
horizontal scrollbar present (actually, I'd argue that spacebar always scrolls
too far, because if there's no horizontal scrollbar, but the last line of text
is only partially visible, it'll only be partially visible after spacebar
scrolling; this problem doesn't happen if you click the shaded area of the
vertical scrollbar).

I checked Options / Preferences / Viewer/Editor / Profile Layout / Item /
Signature and do not have a tickmark at [ ] Italic.

However, your sig is shown in Italic.

If that is what you mean, I can confirm.

The saved mail shows the signature as HTML element address and is
rendered as italic in CEF preview.

Seems to be a bug to handle a signature semantically as address.

And i use in Plain Text templates vertical bars, -'s and +'s as text to create
boxes.
If CEF browser renders these, they look ugly as italic.

As it should be:

Caret positioning seems to be correct now on first try. Let me use this version
for a couple of days and I will report back.

Links are clickable now.

According to the footer, these were not "Alpha" issues but "Apha" issues
though. ;-)

The image is definitely zoomed in for me.

Also noticed another problem – the image file I was inserting was 8735 bytes on
disk; when I saved the message as draft, it somehow became 12648 bytes; after I
opened the draft and sent it, the image somehow became 16 kB, almost twice the
size of the original. This probably shouldn't happen.

And a spell checker problem: in the word "shouldn't" above (and here), the
"shouldn" part is treated as if spelled wrongly (red underline) – looks like
the checker is treating ' as word separator for some reason.

Also, there's a misspelling in the version number: Apha :)

I noticed that the colour drop-downs in Preferences are broken (at least in high-DPI mode):Also, when inserting images into HTML messages, they appear at what looks like 200% zoom – might be related to high contrast, too (let's see how this inserted image appears once I send the message).I can see that the scrollbars in HTML messages now have the arrow buttons, which were missing previously.
