3.95.8 Never ending AV cascade

2007-01-20 Thread Hendrik Oesterlin
Hello List,

While working, I just get a never ending cascade of the following AV:

 ---
 Application Error
 ---
Exception EAccessViolation in module thebat.exe at 0017DA24.

Access violation at address 0057DA24 in module 'thebat.exe'. Read of address
 0001.

 ---
 OK
 ---

After clicking OK on one of the billion AV windows I obtained:

 ---
 Error
 ---
 Runtime error 216 at 00404C06
 ---
 OK
 ---

This message was also cascading, and after a new billion of windows, I
killed TheBat in the task manager.

I have no idea of the reason. Maybe it was because I played around
with account passwords an hour before?

Can't open message, confirm Invalid Pointer, AV cascade

2005-05-24 Thread Mary Bull
Hello Everyone!

Confirming the Invalid Pointer upon clicking on a message in the
Folder Message List. It is followed by cascading AVs, as reported. I
closed TB! with the Task Manager.

Starting a new thread, because I can't open any message to reply to
it.

I did two things: I set a Restore Point in XP just before I installed
v. 3.0.5.14. And I put the msi file for it in a different folder and
path from the one for v. 3.5, so v. 3.5 would not be overwritten, when
I downloaded this latest.

So, I can go back to 3.5, I think, one way or another. If a close and
re-launch hasn't cured these Folder Message List AVs, I shall drop
back and wait for the next post-release fix.

BTW, my Add/Remove page shows only one copy of The Bat! So can't
confirm this problem which some are having.

I just decided to try fiddling with the value for the number of IMAP
 connections to the server.

I just did exactly the same after reading Gleasons message.

I switched from 2 to 8 connections and ran the test. No errors
 reported..

Done exactly the same.

I then exited TB! and got an AV cascade. This time, I used the print
 screen option and got it:

Read your post so exited TB! Didn't get any AV's at all, it closed down and
restarted without incident.

Don't want to speak too soon so I'm saying this very quietly, IMAP seems to
be running perfectly here so far... S.

I've had this problem as well, twice now, but I haven't changed the
connections. I believe Liz also had the same problem. See the AVs
thread from yesterday (sorry, don't have the link with me). I hadn't
had a chance to confirm her e-mail yet. It seems to occur only when I
try to exit The Bat! but I can't pinpoint what specific actions make
it occur. I had done a number of different things, including changing
the delete settings and making some changes to IMAP folders Not
much help. Sorry about that!

AV Cascade

2005-05-08 Thread Allie Martin
Hi,
I just exited TB! and this triggered a cascade of AV's. The address
seemed the same for each popup so I tried taking it down, but TB!
disappeared before I could get it all.

If it happens again try pressing PrtSc, you might be luck enough to get a
 screen grab of it.

I guess I was like a dog staring at headlights. Frozen for a sec and
then choose the wrong direction to run. ;)

I chose the writing part after staring at the screen for a few moments
as the sound stuttered away.

It was afterwards that I thought of the print screen option. Having
seen the dramatic cascade a couple times now and seeing that everything
else is working fine on the system. I'll deal with it more calmly next
time.
