Not  confirmed. I tryied this solution for my FF and this didn't
work. The same behaviour I noticed here with Mozilla 1.7.2
Have you tried unticking the - Use DDE Box for the URL:HyperText 
Transfer Protocol ?
My Computer - Tools - Folder Options - File Types
