Not confirmed. I tryied this solution for my FF and this didn't work. The same behaviour I noticed here with Mozilla 1.7.2
Have you tried unticking the - "Use DDE" Box for the "URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol" ?
My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types
