Ah, okay, thanks for the explanation.

No, I'm sure that I didn't do that. I have single-click enabled, and I
was very careful with it.

Was sunspots, absolutely! :)

Thanks for the comfort and advice.

I did think I was right to report it, in case some weird bug had crept
in. But wasn't a big deal for me. Just a bit scary when it
happened--did I get the Install or not?; has a nefarious Intruder got
past my Router? etc.

Clicking on Cancel put me on my merry way, however. :)

Well, as Marek confirmed, they just hadn't set up the .XML link yet,
when the several of us that it didn't work for tried to Update.

Thanks for the report, Maggie. :)

I think you misunderstand.

I've done this a few times 'cos I'm heavy-handed. If you double-click
the installer in windows explorer (or rather double-double-click) the
2 copies of the installer will open and, because it's the same app,
the 2nd will appear immediately on top of the first. You do the do,
answer all the questions, etc and eventually click the 'Finish' button
and the dialog goes away revealing the 2nd copy, still at the start of
the install process 'cos you've not been there to answer any of its
questions.

Of course, if you're sure that you didn't do that then I'd blame it on
(checks excuses calendar, ah yes, my favourite) sunspot activity,
unless someone else reports it, at least.

I am sure.

I clicked Finish after the install. Just as with all installs.

The installer looped back to the beginning, as if I had not done an
install.

This is the first time this has ever happened to me, with *any*
application, including all my previous TB! msi installs.

Are you sure you didn't launch the installer twice? Clicking 'Finish'
in the first would have dismissed it and left you looking at the 2nd.

Possible new bugs in new release? [Re: New Release....]

I know. With RC2 in hand, I should have been watching the download
page at www.ritlabs.com .

Sorry I got so passionate about it. Actually, it's a minor matter,
right?

Two possible bugs in v. 3.85--should I bring them up again on TBUDL
(since no further comment there) or simply enter a BT issue report?

1) Help/Check for new updates did not function in going from v.
3.81.18 to v. 3.85.01; so might also be dysfunctional in v. 3.85.01
but no way so far to test that.

2) When I did the msi install of v. 3.85.01, and clicked "Finish," I
was sent back to the beginning of the Installer. So, this made me
unsure as to whether v. 3.85.01 had been installed. However, I clicked
Cancel on this second offer of the msi window, and when I clicked
TB!'s .exe icon on my Desktop TB! launched with ease and Help/About
said I was indeed running v. 3.85.01.

Reckon Maxim Masiutin already knows about this? (IIRC, he was in on
developing the msi for TB!, back when the first one was offered.)
