So, in this situation of yours (no OAUTH):
https://i.imgur.com/FPH8wus.png
https://i.imgur.com/z6KF8ux.png
I see that the "do not store password" didn't work, because you asked TB to
store password - by unchecking the option - and it asked for password instead.

In your second situation (OAUTH yes):
https://i.imgur.com/PQ1dUB8.png
you don't tell if TB asked for password, but I guess it did not, while it
should instead, because here you checked the "don't store password" option.

That's exactly what happens in my case: the option "don't store password"
doesn't work in any situations, because 1) with the "regular" authentication
TB always asks for password, and 2) with the OAUTH authentication it never
asks for password, in both cases no matter if the option "don't store
password" is checked or unchecked.

So the problem stands: how do I make TB forget the password with the OAUTH
process?

Since this is a beta list, I think we should stay here. Other three people at
least confirmed that there is a problem with the Google authentication. See:

Yes, except encryption (yes), in every message of mine where I described the
problem. You quoted my configuration yourself in one of your replies. Windows

Ok. In the meanwhile:
Account/Properties/Transport/Receive mail/Authentication, the "Do not store
password, prompt on mail retrieval" option doesn't work for an IMAP account.

I thought it was a built in browser. I have a portable installation of Firefox
set as the default browser, on a Windows 7 Home 64 machine. I'd be surprised
if that was the web engine recalled by the oauth procedure.

That is strange. I added an almost unused Gmail account in my TheBat
installation (Account - New).

I gave there name an Gmail address. Protocol type: Auto

I got a browser window to login (Web) with Google. And then I came on
the page where to authorize TheBat to access.

So, a few mouse clicks - and I see all the mail on this account in
TheBat - no problem at all.

Then what should I do exactly in my Gmail or TB configuration to get TB
versions > 8.2 to work with my Gmail IMAP account? And why 8.2 has no problem
whatsoever?

I think this needs to be addressed thoroughly. Not only this is a showstopper
(I can't upgrade if I can't get access to a Gmail IMAP account) but it also
crashes the program, all the times.

Well I know - there is a risk - but I am using the "insecure" IMAP
connection to Gmail. Sometimes I get the email with warning to disable
it - but I didn't do it and I don't have any problem with TheBat.

The "password incorrect" warning is persistant, it's not possible to close the
window and the only solution is to kill The Bat process entirely.

  Or

The Oauth process stops after accepting the password, when asking that The Bat
would like to read and send email, view contacts etc. These are the
possibilities:

- The "Accept" button seems to work but the same request keeps on coming again
and again, I'm not getting anywhere by pressing it repeatedly.

- The "Refuse" button works, the response is correct ("You denyed access to
the application"), but from here I can't go anywhere, because...

- The "Cancel" button is available but it always brings me back me to the
permission request.

- The close window button [X] on the upper right corner of the window works,
but it brings me back to the Google "choose account to login" request. From
here the cancel button works, and it loops back to the same request.

- The Ok button is never available, in any of the above situations (always
grayed out)

I tried almost all the new versions, always with same results. After every
attempt, I reinstall v. 8.2.4.3 and everything gets back to normal.
