Or, as an old American saying goes, if you can't stand the heat, get
out of the kitchen. If you don't have the bandwidth to handle the
list, unsub from the list. It is what it is.

Actually, I don't think that it's very helpful at all to a developer.
Up and running on what kind of machine? How much RAM does it have?
What OS is it running?

I'm quite sure that RitLabs does BVTs before they release an updated
.exe and so they know that it's at least going to start without
crashing. Thus, the fact that it does start up on your machine
without crashing is of absolutely no surprise. Now, if it were to
crash on start-up, then that'd be something worth mentioning.

Personally, I think it's waste of resources and time to have all of
these 'up running' messages.

R Why not just delete that which you find so offensive?

Why don't you just beta test? For fun use TBOT.

RO Some remarks:

RO UR messages aren't pointless. Sometimes there are versions that don't
RO run for a minority (like OTFE users) without those UR messages it
RO would appear that a version wouldn't run at all so others wouldn't try
RO to install it. (That's just one example)

They are pointless to the point where people are merely stating that
they've installed that particular version. Adding the fact that people
insert their physical location and it's pretty obvious that they're
not really giving beta test input.

They find it amusing, so you have a thread with a couple o people
testing bugfixes and a douzen saying that they've installed the
version and it runs (what else could be expected from a beta
version?)

RO HTML messages aren't forbidden. They're merely forbidden when the
