Hello Richard,

9 [+] Tabs : coloring (red - changes message source, green - filters
9 current messages)
I must be thick but I don't understand that at all. At the moment I just
have 3 tabs: Unread, The Bat and TBBETA. Unread is green and the other
two are red but why I don't know from your explanation - sorry.

The green ones filter the actual folder. The red ones change the
folder (message source was a not very well selected term to explain
that when you select a red tab, then the _messages_ will change,
because you change the folder by selecting a red tab)

9 [+] Tabs : ability to enable/disable/close from popup
Maybe but you can't change the Tab properties now in some respects.
All that happens is that a new Tab is created. For instance I want
my Unread Tab to apply to half a dozen folders but it seems that,
now, you can only choose one folder. Try and add any other and you
just get another Unread Tab added.

Something is misunderstood here... You do NOT have to create many
Unread tab. Just make ONE. When you select a folder and select the
Unread tab, then you see always the unread mails in the ACTUAL folder.

Anyway my unread Tab is incorrect. At the present moment there are
two unread messages showing in the relevant folder but only one in
the Tab. It doesn't matter what I do, it doesn't show it correctly.

It works ok for me... Could you send a screenshot?

Hello Richard,

M I've noticed a message list scrolling problem in some cases (i.e. just
M showing the last message at to of pane). Could that be your problem?
Well, of course now all the unread messages show! Typical. however you
could have been right as I didn't try and move up or down the pane last
 time.
I still would like to know how to assign more than one folder to my
 Unread Tab :-(

Make a Virtual folder. Or View, Folder tabs, checked and you will have
an Unread tab under the list of accounts/folders.

Hello Richard,

V The red ones change the folder
Now that I can't understand. Surely, when you have a Tab, in this case
TBBETA, all it is is a shortcut to that folder. It doesn't change
 anything?

Does change the _actual folder_. But does not filter anything.

V Something is misunderstood here...
You're absolutely right and it's just clicked :-)
V You do NOT have to create many Unread tab. Just make ONE.
and that applies to the folder in question - I thought that the Unread
Tab would apply to all folders but that's what my unread tab in the
 Folder pane is for!

Exactly :))

V It works ok for me... Could you send a screenshot?
'fraid not because, as I've just told MAU, it's now working and must
have been a one off. All unread messages are (at the moment at least)
 showing properly.

Good :))

Hello Peter,

9 [+] Tabs : coloring (red - changes message source, green - filters
9 current messages)
can you enlighten me? What does this (changes message source) mean?

The green ones filter the actual folder. The red ones change the
folder (message source was a not very well selected term to explain
that when you select a red tab, then the _messages_ will change,
because you change the folder by selecting a red tab)

Besides that, with this beta I found my previously defined tabs
duplicated. No big deal, though. I simply removed and redefined
 them.

We experienced the same :)

Hello Richard,

Hm, without starting a war, I'd dispute that. Surely, all it does (the
Tab I mean) is to give you a convenient shortcut to a particular folder
.

Period :). This is what it does.

I've just selected the actual folder followed by the Tab and the screen
 doesn't change a fraction.

If
- you have a red tab referring to e.g. your TBBETA folder
- and you actually have All tab selected
- and your actual folder is TBBETA,

then changing from All tab to TBBETA tab should not do anything.

V This is how it should work in v3.61.07:
V Change the folder, the Tab SHOULD NOT change from the filtered view (for
V example unread mails) back to the All, and only the filtered, for
V example unread mails should be shown. Consistent and logical.

Yes I agree with this.

The All tab does show all messages for the folder you are currently
viewing. The Unread tab shows the Unread Messages for folder you are
currently in. The question is what should happen when you select the
Unread tab for folder A and then switch to folder B without changing
tabs. The current behavior is that you will see All messages in folder
B instead of the desired behavior that you would see only the Unread
messages in folder B.

RW Then why bother having an All Tab if you don't want to see all? All
RW should show just that, All. That seems perfectly consistent to me and
RW what I'd expect from a tab that says All on it.

Because the tab shows a filter, as in Unread. If you want to change to
a different folder and still see Unread Only, as it is now, you have
to switch to the new folder, and then select the Unread tab again.
This is not how filters currently work in other areas of TB.

Hello Richard,

What's the point of having an All Tab then if it doesn't show
 exactly that?

The function of the All tab is to see all messages _again_ after you
chose a filtered view.
