If you set the limit to 1 and you have multiple POP accounts (e.g. 20), and you
click Check mail for all, then the first account will be connected, while
others will be waiting until the connection with the first account is finished,
so the accounts will be checked sequentially.

Hello Bob,

number is too high; and if 2) the number is too low?

If you will set the number too high, then The Bat! will work as before, i.e.
without any limit.

This number applies separately to each class of mail connections. E.g. if you
set it to 9, you will have a maximum of 9 simultantous POP connections, 9 SMTP
connections, 9 http connections (to download images embedded in html pages) and
9 IMAP accounts connected (each account can have own parallel connection
though).

I think that it is irrational to apply Limit of simultaneous tasks in the
Connection Centre to IMAP connections. What do you think about it? It seems to
me that this number should only limit POP, SMTP and HTTP, while IMAP should
always be unlimited, since IMAP is a permanent connection to some extent,
unlike POP, SMTP and HTTP.

BTW, is this related to your IMAP support? Were there other
IMAP-related changes in the last 90 days, or are others plannned?

We didn't change anything in IMAP.

subject The new option Limit of simultaneous tasks in the Connection
 Centre :

The new option Limit of simultaneous tasks in the Connection
Centre is in the Options|Network and Administration dialog.

Does it apply only to IMAP? I see no differences in receiving
POP3-accounts, even if I set the limit to 1.

Also no detectable difference in Imap behavior. The connection center
loads 100 or so tasks at program start for the main Imap account while
also checking 3 other smaller ones. Performance is quite good though.
