Re: Using TAB key to rotate focus

Hello Betas!

A lot of Post-Releases und Betas have been published meanwhile, but this
small matter is still present:

I usually use the TAB key to 'rotate' the focus from the message list
to the mail preview and the folder list. A few betas before I
recognized that there seems to be a *4th* state now, between the
message list and the mail preview. But *where* is the focus at this
 time?
 [...]
there is still the hidden state between message list and preview
 pane where the focus disappears
 [...]
The last few betas didn't have this hidden state, but 3.5.26 has it
again. So all I wanted to say was: This bug is back.
 [...]
Confirmed. FWIW, it was earlier fixed in 3.5.18.0.

The 4th state is when the focus is on the header of the mail. Try it:
put the focus there, and press Tab or Shift+Tab.

But it is a bug. Is there BT I can support?

(Huhh.. I was trying to find a shortcut, that would highlight part of
the message header, I pressed Ctrl+Alt+ left arrow... My screen was
rotated 90 degress left :))) Some system shortcut to the graphics card
driver :))

Sorry ... but I do not understand what you want to tell me ;-). If the
focus gets lost in 4th state, not a single key shows any effect (except
TAB and SPACE, of course); especially the CONTEXT KEY has no function.
So this behaviour seems to be totally useless.

It's a pity that this bug has left the planet in 3.5.18 and then came

Take a look at the quick search toolbar when you don't know where the
cursor is. It cycles through there when you are going backwards
(shift-tab) at least here.

Usually my quick search toolbar is switched off, but *if* it's visible,
I get five states instead of four:

1.) message list
2.) quick search bar
3.) *hidden*
4.) mail preview
5.) folder list

I think that it's done this for some time.

Points to note: If you are using the HTML viewer in the preview
window, once the focus has moved to that window, TAB moves the focus
to each hyperlink and only move to the next window once all the links
have been visited.

If the focus is in the message window and you delete the only message
in the folder the focus seems to disappear until you use the mouse to
magic it back.
