Re: new anti-virus (NOD32) error

Hello Mike,

A reminder of what Mike Rourke typed on:
  06 November 2004 at 00:11:03 GMT +0100

MR After updating to TB 3.0.2.5, it now shows version 1.916... however... it
doesn't work.

My version shows 1.917(20041106) and I've never had any errors. I can't even
download the eicar TS, not even with NOD32 disabled.

I copied the string, pasted it into a text file, attached it to a mail
to myself, disabled NOD32 and this is how the mail came through...

,-
| __ NOD32 1.917 (20041106) Warning __
|
| Warning: NOD32 antivirus system found the following infiltrations in the
message:
| eicar.txt - Eicar test file
|
| http://www.nod32.com
`-

So I guess it's working fine here.

Hello Marek,

MM text messages are not checked - it has no sense,

It does however trap the string if it is a txt file received as an
attachment. The string in the actual body does get the all clear from NOD.

2004-11-06 Thread Mike Rourke

Hi Jan,
JR Battyfolk,

JR It seems that after I installed the NOD32 plug-in I began to get
JR the following error which I had never seen before. Anyone else?

JR |---| Start |---|

JR !10/30/2004, 07:36:23: ANTIVIRUS - The anti-virus has reported an
JR error, the object cannot be checked for viruses

JR || End ||

JR Thanks.

I had the same error, odd thing is in the anti-virus plug-in screen, it showed
version Unknown. After updating to TB 3.0.2.5, it now shows version
1.916... however... it doesn't work. I e-mailed myself the eicar string to
both POP and IMAP accounts with IMON in NOD32 off (so it wouldn't intercept the
e-mail before the plug-in had a chance). The plug-in didn't catch it...

string means text part in message body? If yes, plugin can't catch it,
because TB sends to antivirus plugin only attachments, text messages
are not checked - it has no sense, if You can't be infected by it? :-)

BTW last NOD32 plugin developed by Ritlabs is supported by 3.x
versions only (and some betaversions of 2.13) and last version of
NOD32 with nod32api.dll included must be available.

There is only one issue known at this time - system must be restarted,
instead version in TB's Preferences dialog is Unknown. After restart
there is a NOD32 database version in this field then.
