That was also the case for Beta 2 (which I posed here) It looks like the launcher looks in "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\The Bat!" irrespective of the location you specify when installing I worked around this by creating a link "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\The Bat!" to the actual install location 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

I had the "no start" problem too, but solved it by saving the v9 "mail" directory aside. And then completely uninstalling v9. Install v10 to a new program folder, and move your saved "mail" directory inside the new tb program folder. You will need to tell v10 to use the "mail" directory to restore your mail account structure.
