However, when I LB try to call it up via auto-completion, it *has* the quotations. There are two places in TB where auto-completion of names comes into play. The first is the Address Book quick search tool. The second is the To: or CC: entry fields. JA What happens if you try to delete a name that is correct from the JA autocomplete LB It simple reappears the next time I type the address name *with* the LB quotation marks! I will assume that this is when addressing the message. In that case there is something you need to understand. Auto-complete does *not* use the address book as its' source - it uses the 'To' field history list (see the drop down attached to the 'To' field). To complete an address from the address book, you have to manually interfere and press Ctrl-Plus. It sounds to me as if the Joe Blow address is in the history list with quotes and in the address book without. I've no idea what changes have been made to the exported .reg file format, most likely a new data type or two that Win98 registry (or regedit) doesn't support. There's nothing of this sort (AFAIK) under the [...\The Bat!] key, so you should be able to import it after replacing the "... 5.00" line and replace it with "REGEDIT4". I haven't tried it, though. Addressing messages using address book?
Hello list, I'm a newbie to this program so forgive me if this has already been discussed many times before or if it's a faq. I try to write only parts of an address and used to Pegasus and OE as i am i expect the bat to fetch the address from the address book and fill in the "to" field for me, but it doesn't seem to do so, am i right? It seems that only the last used addresses are automagically filled in and not the ones stored in my address book. If you want to use the address book you'll have to go to the address book window and fetch the address from there. Is it really so, or am i missing something, and if so what? I tried this feature but i couldn't get it to work, but that could be something i've missed again.:-) Both work for me in fact. (On a Swedish keyboard the plus is placed in a non-shifted position) Place the cursor in the relevant field, type the first letters in the address and press Ctrl - plus. Continue to press Ctrl - plus if there are several addresses in your addressbook that match the same characters, and you will cycle them all. To get several addresses in the same field you have to (at least I have to) put an semicolon or a comma after the first address. The semicolon or comma is automatically added to the next address.
