MW I tried to change the folder columns (moved size) in the default
MW account. Worked, except the folders didn't follow suit. Moreover, when
MW I clicked back to the default account folder, *that* had reverted to
MW its previous column order.

MW The column sizes also don't seem to stick.

MW bug?

Not really. Accounts don't have default column sizes.

MW Is the main account folder the default account folder? Or am I
MW missing something, or am I totally confused now?

You are :-). *Any* folder that follows the default folder settings

Hi Larry,

On 06 September 2000 at 00:21:48 GMT -0300 (which was 04:21 where I

of "Question about address book entry":

JA Do the address book entries have the quotation marks after
JA you've corrected them?

LB No, that's the problem. When I change the address in the address
LB book, I enter it *without* the quotation marks. However, when I
LB try to call it up via auto-completion, it *has* the quotations.

There are two places in TB where auto-completion of names comes into
play. The first is the Address Book quick search tool. The second is
the To: or CC: entry fields.

JA What happens if you try to delete a name that is correct from the
JA autocomplete

LB It simple reappears the next time I type the address name *with* the
LB quotation marks!

I will assume that this is when addressing the message. In that case
there is something you need to understand. Auto-complete does *not*
use the address book as its' source - it uses the 'To' field history
list (see the drop down attached to the 'To' field).

To complete an address from the address book, you have to manually
interfere and press Ctrl-Plus.

It sounds to me as if the Joe Blow address is in the history list with
quotes and in the address book without. You can delete entries from
the drop-down by highlighting an offending line and pressing Del.

Be sure that you're using the same registry editors in both Win98 and

Also remember to recreate the folder structure in the new account or
copy/move the folders over (also in the same structure) in TB
*before* restarting TB. Upon putting the filters (in the newly
copied .srx file) to work, TB would check to see if the destination
folders (source folders for read/replied message filters, and
destination folders for the copy action) are in place. If not, TB
would use the default value (Inbox for Incoming mail filters)
without warning.

So .. how do I share data? My desktop is a w2k system. The

The registry key used by TB is

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\The Bat!]

in both Win98 and Win2k, but the export from Win2k regedit would
start with the following line:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

which makes the regedit in Win98 to reject it, for the latter is
version 4.

I've no idea what changes have been made to the exported .reg file
format, most likely a new data type or two that Win98 registry (or
regedit) doesn't support. There's nothing of this sort (AFAIK) under
the [...\The Bat!] key, so you should be able to import it after
replacing the "... 5.00" line and replace it with "REGEDIT4". I
haven't tried it, though. (It's always a good idea to backup the
registry before messing with it.)

First, I had to install the bat twice (one for each user).
For my account, no problem.
But it seem impossible to load the bat with the power user mode (no
error pop O, I click and nothing happen).
When I change to admin level security, it works !

Any hints ?

Both work for me in fact. (On a Swedish keyboard the plus is placed
in a non-shifted position) Place the cursor in the relevant field, type
the first letters in the address and press Ctrl - plus. Continue to
press Ctrl - plus if there are several addresses in your addressbook that
match the same characters, and you will cycle them all.

To get several addresses in the same field you have to (at least I have
to) put an semicolon or a comma after the first address. The
semicolon or comma is automatically added to the next address.

Try again!

Krister, since you're writing from Sweden I bet you're using a Swedish
keyboard. When Marck says press CTRL and +, he means + where it is
located on the American keyboard. I'm sure Swedish keyboard is
different in this respect from American.

I'm using a Slovak keyboard and need to use the combination CTRL and _
for this feature to work. It wouldn't help me any to press CTRL and +
on the Slovak keyboard since + on our keyboard is located on the same

With moderator's hat on now, it is not good form on these lists to
