Filter not working
I have set up a filter called outblaze to filter out the spam that I get (outblaze.com is a big spam distributor): condition: outblaze is present in kludges - move to folder spam (regular expressions checked, no other options touched) now just today I received 3 mails which _weren't_ filtered. They all have lines like this one in their respective headers: Received: from pdc.sinogene.com.tw ([211.23.70.100]) by spf5.us4.outblaze.com (8.11.0/8.11.0) with ESMTP id fA39V2K08323 for [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Sat, 3 Nov 2001 09:31:03 GMT What could be the mistake? This can be achieved by starting TB by the scheduler that's integrated within Windows. For the specifics search TB-help for /MAIL Mind you. I haven't tested this, for I'm not running the TB in server mode, nor do I intend to, because I'm already running a real server on my one-person LAN. If it works (and as as I can see it, it should) it has one drawback: The account isn't deleted, it's not getting any new mail, so any old mail can be read/collected until you've physically removed the account. Another option (not one that I'd prefer) is to set a filter to run an external program on a given filter condition. The program in case should be a batch-file or whatever that deletes or renames the account directory for the to be deleted account, so TB can't find the messagebase that belongs to that account. TB! GnuPG ??
Hello bat(wo)men, had to restore TB! and GPG from back-ups after trying to turn my dual-boot (Win98SE Linux Mandrake) system into a triple-boot (+ NT4) and ending up with no-boot ... :-( now i can not choose GnuPG as OpenPGP version under 'tools' ?! it's greyed out. gpg.exe is in c:\gnupg, added dir. to path in autoexec.bat and added registry entries ... what did i forget ?? -- Rob using The Bat! 1.53o ... TB! V1.54/10 - Moving between accounts
Hello TBUDListers. I have a cable account a dialup account (backup) All of my work (AB, template, filters, etc is associated with cabel account. I created a Dialup account folder which I add or delete (leaving files on HD) as needed whenever my cable modem goes down. I created an incoming filter in the Dialup account which transfers everything from the Dialup Inbox to the Cable Inbox (to be filtered appropriately). There it sits unless I run the filters manually. Getting signal strings in a file to work in Selective Download filters
Dear TBUDL, I'm trying to get a selective download rule to work with signal strings loaded from a file. The rule looks like: Rule tab: Name = Approved senders Detect by = Originator Signal strings = (empty) Rule is: Active = checked Manual only = unchecked Advanced tab: Action = Kill Detection method = None of strings should match Load signal strings from the file = checked filename box names an existing file (selected by browsing) The signal strings file is formatted like: v--column 1 string1 string2 ... etc When I used to put all the strings in the signal strings box on the Rule tab, the rule would mark for retrieval only messages from people matching entries the list. Will someone put me out of my misery and tell me what I did wrong? new folders after restore?
I restored my installation of TheBat after I reinstalled Win2k and now have some new folders in my mail directory ([..]\TheBat\MAIL). The 'old' ones are still there and the new ones have a '.000' appended to the end of the directory name. So if 'web.de' was the name of an original folder, the new one is now called 'web.de.000'. Only 5 out of my 7 accounts have new folders though. TheBat operates on the new folders for these 5 accounts and on the original folders for the rest. Does anyone know how I could get it to use all of its old folders? Kludges?
I'm still learning about various ways to filter, and I understand most of it... but what does it mean by the term kludges? I've used filters in Outlook, Eudora, Pegasus, and every other mail program I've used, but never come across this term in this sense of a specific filtering element, like Subject, From, Reply-to, etc. at dictionary.com I found this: kludge or kluge (klj) n. Slang 1. A system, especially a computer system, that is constituted of poorly matched elements or of elements originally intended for other applications. 2. A clumsy or inelegant solution to a problem. but even this doesn't explain the usage as a filter. There kludges is used for everything apart from the msg-body and the To-, From- and Subject-headers in it's netmail and echomail (respectively e-mail and usenet varieties). Access Violation in thebat.exe
Hi Strange problem. Have been using ver 1.54/10 for awhile. This is on a computer with Windows 2000. I left on the computer overnight with TB open, set to get mail every half hour. This morning when I got up I was greeted with a message box stating: Exception EAccessViolation in module thebat.exe at 00242C3F. Access violation at address 00653E83. Read of address 0018. What is happening is that everytime TB goes to get mail, it hangs on the last message and then I get the above message. I closed down my computer reopened and same problem. With that box up, I can still write this message and send it out. However, I can't get my mail as the connection centre hangs on the last message. I even went back to Ver. 1.54/9 and that didn't change. Identifying Auto Responder
Fellow TB users, Second posting in case the group missed out earlier... I manage a announcement mailing list and quite often I get back auto responders / vacation mail from subscribers who are genuinely on vacation or have forgotten to turn off the option. These are meaningless mail and would like to delete them. The question is there some sting specific to Auto Responders / Vacation mails based on which I can create a filter. Hello The Bat! developers, I'm using The Bat! Version 1.54/10 Serial Number C70A45E3 under Windows NT 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 2.
