Oh Great Planners and Developers hear my plea:

a. Can an option be added to Sorting Office Rules - Actions-
Redirect Message to Do not Save to Sent Folder. I have a filter
set up to forward certain items to myself at work. Since I already
keep the original in a separate folder, I dont need yet another copy
in the Sent folder. In the (now archaic) SUN(r) mailtool this is akin
to the Do not log checkbox.

b. IRT above can a Do not log checkbox or button be added to the
send window for those messages which you do not want a copy saved.

A
AMBTW, this cookie mechanism may be used in other ways. You could use
AMit to randomise entire signatures. You can do it like this:

AMFor each signature, create a quick template. Give each signature
AMtemplate its own handle name.

AMCreate a text file and put each quick templates handle in its own
AMline like:

AMhandle1
AMhandle2
AMhandle3
AMhandle4
AMetc.

AMIn your message templates, instead of putting your usual signature,
AMput:

AM%Qinclude=%Cookies='sighandletextfile.txt'

AMThere's more you can do as well. It just depends on your imagination
AMand creativity.

You can also use multiple cookie files to serve different
purposes. In addition to the standard tag lines, have another file
with various closings that I put in my messages. For example, the
close to this message was randomly selected from my closing file.
Which contains closings such as Later, Until next time, Have a
happy, etc. Then the -- and a final quip tag.

 %Cookies=closing.txt
 %Cookies=my-sig.txt
 --
 %Wrapped=%Cookies='cookies.txt'

Hang on mail check

2003-02-01 Thread Wayne Black
Saturday, February 01, 2003 at 12:31 PM (Pacific Time)

Greetings TheBat! Users,

I just wanted to share a problem and a fix that I experienced this
morning. I was checking my TBUDL and TBOT mail this morning and there
were 96 new messages. I always use the connection center, normally
without any problems. But for some reason, it would hang on message
#64 while trying to get the headers. There were no attachments or
unusually large messages. I tried three times and it still came to a
halt at #64.

I used Popcorn to get all the email headers for this account (around
560 of them because I have it set to leave mail on server for 3 days)
closed Popcorn, opened TheBat and was able to get all 96 headers and
download as normal. I don't know if anyone else had this happen or not
but this is how I was able to fix it.

Bartlett's quotations here: you can search by author, subject, or just
get an alphabetical list of famous quotes. (though this
version is the 1919 one, so nothing too current, if that's what you
are looking for).

http://www.bartleby.com/100/

(this link also has quotations from other sources, and search ability
for many other)

Also, if you subscribe to the Word a Day mail list by Anu Garg, you'll
get a new quote every day, included in the daily email about a fun
word. You can check it out, and subscribe, from here:

http://wordsmith.org/awad/index.html

Lastly, you can do this: when someone sends me an email
and say something pithy or on target, I copy it, and put it into my
cookie list, and every now and again, I end up sending out email with
quotes from friends!
