It can be downloaded from http://www.pcwize.com/thebat/smileys/rogues.zip I've made a little .bat file, which is executed when a new person in the rogues is announced. It simply downloads the file and unzips it: cd C:\Program files\TheBat\Images C:\Program files\wget\wget.exe -N http://www.pcwize.com/thebat/smileys/rogues.zip C:\Program files\PKWARE\PKZIPC\pkzipc.exe -extract -overwrite=all C:\Program files\TheBat\Images\rogues.zip It uses wget (free from http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/wget.html#downloading) and pkzip (not free http://www.pkware.com/), but any command line zip tool will do. Note that older versions of pkunzip are avalible for free, but they do not understand long file names, and are useless in this case. If many people starts to auto download the rogues file, it may be hard for the server when new people are announced. In that case it would help to make a file with e.g. the 10 newest images and the settings file. -- Best regards, Simon Mikkelsen Contact information http://mikkelsen.tv/simon/contact/ Using TheBat 2.12.00 on Windows 2000 (NT 5.0) build 2195, Service Pack 4 Current version is 2.12.00 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Using one message base for two TB! installs
I am now the proud owner of two registered copies of TB! One is version 1.6, and the other (purchased just last week) is the latest version... 2.1, I think. I have a small personal LAN, on which I am the only user. What I want to do, is have a single folder for email messages, and the other stuff that is normally saved to the TB! data folder, on my server, and both versions of TB! able to access it and write to it... but never at the same time, since I am only one person, and will never have both TB! programs open at the same time. If this is possible (as in no conflicts between the two versions, etc.), I would be grateful in advance, to anyone who would point me to the 'how to' page... if one exists. At the moment, the new version doesn't have any messages to speak of in it, just a few folders and test messages that I set up, in a single account, to play around with, so I will plan on just deleting that folder, and pointing it to the working folder from the 1.6 version, once it is moved over to my server. If both were the same version that would be possible without any problems. Just point both installations to the same directory. However, since v2 TB uses different files to store its folder info (account.flx in v1, account.flb in v2) so any changes in the folder structure you'd make would be made for one version, while the other version wouldn't know about it. Another change is that since 2.12 the account info is store in a file called account.cfn whereas that was account.cfg in the older versions, so any account specific changes wouldn't be picked up by the other version. Finally there's a whole bunch of macros that have slightly changed since v1 so QT's that worked alright in v1 won't do that in v2 and the other way around too. v2 knows some more macros. You'd do best to upgrade your 1.6 to v2, that way you avoid these issues. -- Groetjes, Roelof Disclaimer: Any opinion stated in this message is not necessarily shared by my budgies or rabbits. I just couldn't stop thinking about a way of reaching something similar in TheBat (I began to hate all the subfolders in various accounts and adapting filter criteria again and again to catch all messages once I knew how it is handled in M2). So far, I've tried simulating that functionality by combining TheBat with PopFile (a Bayes filter that can handle multiple buckets and not only keep ham and spam apart, http://popfile.sourceforge.net). If you limit yourself to a reasonable number of buckets (so that the learning won't take forever) you can set up virtual folders that filter by the X-Text-Classification header that PopFile adds to the messages. However, wrong classifications by PopFile (which naturally do happen in the beginning) lead to the mails being shown in the wrong virtual folder. You can reclassify them in PopFile, but the mail is already imported into TB's messagebase by then. Problematic when you subscribe to a new mailinglist, sign up for another newsletters - in short: whenever the classification needs to be enhanced/adapted (false positives are guaranteed during the first couple of mails). Because of that, I currently filter to common folders and maybe switch to virtual folders, later (when PopFile has received more training). The combination of thebat and M2 combined would be my dream email client. Care to elaborate on how you have the filters and such set up for this operation, sounds like something I would like. Firstly you create a new virtual folder. Then, in its Properties, under Filter tab you check Flagged. Then you Select folders you want to see flagged messages from (I use all of them from all accounts). - -- Mica PGP key uploaded at: http://pgp.mit.edu/ once just before breakfast -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- iD8DBQFBAqdB9q62QPd3XuIRAmR0AJoCWpTLc1tWiqILrppx//b7a0Xp2ACcCui3 aCxnSuwmsyYqyXcubeWQg58= =Gg0y -END PGP SIGNATURE- Current version is 2.12.00 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Saturday, July 24, 2004, 6:16:28 PM, Alexander S. Kunz wrote: re baysian sorting... I use a two stage process - I have Popfile classify mail, and then have a Bat! input-filter set a corresponding colour-group from the X-Text-Classification header. I then have my virtual folders set up based on the colour-groups. When a message is mis-classified, I can then double click on the X-Popfile-Link header (which I display in the header panel) to tell Popfile, and also right-click in the message-list-pane to change the colour-group, this is then picked up by the virtual folders. Assuming you have a firewall either on a router or your computer, you could just close port 25 (or whatever other port you have SMTP set up on) to prevent your system sending messages. Similarly closing port 110 would stop the message download. You could also use a proxy like XRay for sending and/or receiving mail.
