Because they believe it's better, and they want to be part of it or they just have fun coding something that they consider sensible. This holds true for a lot of freeware and opensource software. However, if you find an email provider who can motivate enough sysads and customer service people to maintain the email service for free, you will be pointing to a really chaotic email provider. I think FidoNet went a bit into this direction. As for hardware and servers to download freeware from, I just went to www.linux.de for fun. Guess what I found: There are ads in the subdomain http://jobs.linux.de/ I'm sure that if you look around on other Linux websites, you'll find ads as well. Also, when you download any Linux flavour for free, you will still have to have sufficient knowledge of computing to make it run the way you like it. Otherwise you need to buy a box from a distributor and this will include professional help. Over here, a RedHat Linux is no cheaper than Windows XP, last time I checked. I'd prefer that it close the current message only, because there isn't any previous message when you're positioned on the first message in the folder. An alternative would be to disable the previous-message button if there are no previous messages. Too often I find myself reading extremely old messages because TB has rolled past the most recent message and gone back to the oldest message without saying anything. -- Anthony __ Using The Bat! v3.5.25 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2 Current version is 3.60.7 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

header entry clickable?
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hallo Fledermäuse, I used to have my POPfile link double clickable to get to the popfile classification window. It doesn't work anymore. I guess it's a setting that I lost when I had to reinstall everything a few weeks back. When I go to edit headers I find a checkbox for 'this field is an address list' and I thought it's the one. But no, it is only swallowing up the TDL part of the address and that's it. Still not clickable.
