 Is this in received mail?

I had a similar problem in Agent under Widows, and very
 occasionally under Claws in Linux.

I think it is something to do with the sender having a mangled mail
client; and usually happens in Outlook Xpress, but please correct me
 if wrong?

Yes, it is from received patches for Vim. Unix users are
receiving the same mail and not having a problem.

Thanks for your reply.

With .tbk you include preferences and registration info (stuff that's
stored in the registry, not on disk) Also restoring the address book
compresses it (deleting entries from the AB means that they're marked
as deleted, they'll stay in the file, but when you backup they won't
be included.)
Disadvantage is that you can only restore to the same path and that
.tbk currently doesn't copy the upload manager and address history
yet. Nor will it backup any files that aren't regular TB files (my
cookies are stored in a text file in my mail directory, but it won't
be included in my backup)

No way to purge unread messages in common folder

2008-02-08 Thread Doug Higby
Hello,

My Gmail account pulls in messages for the beta list for TheBat! Message count
is
over 5,000 and I have it set to keep *only* 300 messages. The messages are
sorted
and placed in a common folder:
Lists
  TheBat!
 Beta

The folder settings for Beta are set to Max stored messages = 300, and I even
tried
max keep messages = 30 days. But nothing will get rid of them if they are
unread. For
my Gmail account, I have checked the box that says Purge unread messages

Is this a bug?

Best 3.x Version?

not find any relevant posts:

As I am currently not brave enough (and neither have the time nor the

best 3.x version and live happily with it for the next years.

Any opinions on which one to use? Which version proofed to contain the

Unfortunately you can't set 'purge unread messages' for common
folders, it's not in their 'account properties'.
The settings of the original account have no meaning for the common
folder, as the messages aren't associated anymore with that account.

No bug, though you could consider it an oversight.

Upgraded text editor in TB4: new paragraph handling or is it just the same?

2008-02-08 Thread Luca

|Upgraded Text Editor
|The MicroEd text editor is improved. Now it supports Unicode and all
|the available system fonts. You have the possibility to use different
|fonts for different elements of the message and benefit of the system-wide
|drag-and-drop option. We also added the Redo function and spell checking
|for multiple languages at once. Text search is equipped with new options.
|Message signature is highlighted.

Hope never dies: now, in this version 4, can TB automatically handle
paragraphs separated by only one carriage return, or do we need to hit return
twice as always?

Right now my TB installation is the default one with the mail
directory under application data on the default drive. So assuming I
had to do a reinstall and chose the default set up, TBK import should
work fine. On the other hand, you say that if i were to put my mail
directory on a separate drive when doing a new installation, an import
via tbk would fail?

Good question.

thanks for that - in that case I better write down the exact path to
have the option to match it in future. I notice that each time when I
do a new installation there may be slight variations as to which
account name I use for XP. If my pc dies, I am not sure if I could
remember the full path correctly. I guess it's good then to have a full back
up of the mail directory too.

I would say v3.98.4. That one is pretty stable and doesn't have

The promised they would fix it in next version and they have :) IIRC this
