Software to save emails automatically
Hi All, I am looking for a software which can save all messages, including threaded ones, as individual files. If I click on a saved file individually it would open & show attachments (which can be saved to a file or opened on clicking) If several messages has the same title, it would add a suffix to the files. Is such software available for the Bat! and Outlook Express? John Current version is 4.0.38.0 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Even if you dont print it, you dont have to go online to find out something. I knew that there are sites/info about TB out there. What I suggest is to gather all useful info into one PDF. So, the goal is NOT to make something completely new, but a useful, comprehensive PDF. Vili Current version is 4.0.38.0 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Is there a way to control the browser activity when one clicks on a url link in an email message in TB? It is a community of users ready and able to help new users get to grips with some of the capabilities of this flexible email client. More complex issues are discussed on the TBTECH list (see below for details). Simply send messages to mailto:TBUDL@thebat.dutaint.com to send it to the whole list. See the notes at the end of this message for details about how to manage your list membership or to leave the list. It would probably be a good idea for you to set up a folder to keep TBUDL messages in. If you do this, the next most useful thing to have in place is an automatic filter to move mail from your inbox into your TBUDL folder. Set up a filter for incoming mail which looks for: Header Field [Reply-To] Contains [EMAIL PROTECTED] The Roguemoticon Project It's nice to see your contact's face in the header ... and for them to see yours. That's what roguemoticons are all about. If you wish to add yourself, then you'll need to visit this site http://www.pcwize.com/thebat What this place will do for you is to allow you to create an account, add your image and then let you download a .ZIP file containing all the files you'll need to be able so see people's faces without having to send or receive any real images in any messages. To trigger the roguemoticon display in the message header for anyone reading your message using TB, you have the choice of using the X-Rogue: header or a signature trigger. How to use a signature trigger The image is triggered by a 'Handle' you've defined in your account, and when that Handle appears in a message it gets replaced on the client side by the corresponding image. A handle could look like anything you want it to look like pretty much. For example: :Marck_Pearlstone: Just add this text to your standard message signature block. How to create the X-Rogue: header You can do that with this macro: %SetHeader('X-Rogue',':your_handle:')%- in your templates for this and other tb-lists. However, the macro alone won't do the trick. TB'll say: 'Hey, that's not any RFC822 header I know about', so you'll have to define it as such: Options .. Preferences .. Messages .. Message headers .. 'Add' Now you'll get a pop-up to define the header Display as: X-Rogue (or whatever, it isn't very important) RFC header: X-Rogue Uncheck: 'This field is an address list' (because it isn't) Check: 'Allow this field to be edited in the message editor' Uncheck: 'Display this field in the scrollable part of the header pane' Now you're done and every TB-user can see your lovable face when they've installed the roguemoticons. For you to see peoples faces: To get this going, you should be running TB! v2.12 or later. Fetch the following file: http://www.pcwize.com/thebat/smileys/rogues.zip Unzip it to the 'Images' directory that's in your TB! installation directory: C:\Program Files\The Bat!\Images You should now have a directory called 'rogues' containing many images as well as the file 'rogues.msl' in your Images directory. Go into the preferences, and bring up the View/Editor options. Now hit Shift-CTRL-Alt-T while TB! is in focus. This will re-fetch TB!'s smiley set from disk and load the new images. Fellow list members, I've been following this thread since the beginning and find it unusual that no one has mentioned the Tiki (similar to WIKI I suppose) for TBUDP (The Bat! The following link will take you directly to the TBUDP page: http://www.pcwize.com/thebat/tbudp/tiki-index.php Since this project has already been started, it would seem that it falls directly in line with what every one in this thread is asking for. Like Roger, I have not explored all the fine features of TB, but like Roger, I could help with the text editing, having written tech manuals years ago (it was not my primary job, but I did it as an engineer helping develop such manuals for machine operators). Let's write an English manual for The Bat! that is suitable for printing
Ok, I joked, but also, I am willing to participate in a project where we put together an English PDF manual. But I cannot do it alone. This is what I suggest: - first we simply import the CHM into Help&Manual (I tried it, works, some formatting does not come over). Advantage of HM is that we can create PDF very easily, etc. Ok, so at this point we have a PDF v0. - some people go over it and decide which parts to change, what extra parts to write - those people decide who corrects/writes those parts - everybody does his job by the deadline the people agree - the editor/dictator :) goes over the parts and make the final corrections. If the issue is a serious one, he discusses it with the author. Final word is always the editor's. - we make a PDF then that is released. This is when people who are not actively included in the project can make suggestions, that could be included in PDF manual v2. So, who are willing to put some time into it? I estimate like ca. 40 hrs/person or little more. Project would take until the end of January, so it can be spread over two months, no reason to hurry during December. I am willing to do the HM editing, suggesting a structure, make the PDF v0. I can supply the editor with HM. I wont be editor. However, I strongly suggest to have ONE editor.
