EC Any help?

If you know a text or so which is guaranteed somewhere do a search
over all the msgs and select ONE line where you select what to
search for. Keep it simple so that if its somewhere you will find
in. Then check where its sitting if you find it... Note you can also
select 'last week' and *.* for the file name so you find anything
saved in the last week... You should know what will give a
bulls-eye! If you still have the backup file you likely have to do
the restore again. Doesnt matter anyway if do it more then once as
you would get duplicated email and you can get rid of those

I've done this to no avail. I think I must do a restore.

EC Question: does it ask me or let me choose the account also?

Not quite. In my v4.0.38 it asks first for the file, then the account
and here it goes. It restores that whole account without asking which
folder. But, it does not overwrite what has being added after the
backup.

BTW, the problem was as follows. I had moved some Folders to another
location. In the Filter I renamed those old folder names to something
different but forgot to do so with the folders itself. I guess when I
applied the filter those folders where created but did not show
(strangely) in the account. Looking with Explorer revealed the folders
where there with all the mails in it.

But now all is fine. Thanks.

The first date on that smtp.log file was somewhere in 2006, I think -
not a typical period for a single logfile. The POPlog is over 3 *GIG*,
and though I'm pretty sure I can rar it, I'm not certain I can load it
into an editor. That's kind of a big file.

Anyway, fwiw, the smtp.log started out at 315,567kb, and rar'ed down to
159,975, that's with 'normal' compression. I haven't messed with
Winrar's config for a while, and it's probably not far off the defaults,
if any changes were made at all. Took about 45 minutes, give or take. Is
that any help?

t After you have done the backup one time and its worth it,

I still can't think why I'd need more than a month's worth of log,
really. On this particular occasion we needed about 8 hours worth, to
identify a server error, and that's the kind of thing I'm likely to need
it for I'd think.

Seriously, why would I need more?

Can I make folder creation default to NOT show unread messages in Mail Ticker?

2009-04-20 Thread John Sherman
Hello all,

There's something that has been a minor, nagging irritation for me for some
time now. Is there any way at all to make a newly created folder default to
not show its unread messages in the mail ticker? I use the mail ticker very
sparingly to let me know when an email arrives that I really want to know about
as soon as possible. I create common folders with a filter to receive
filtered messages by the person, and it is annoying to have to manually uncheck
the 'Show unread messages in Mail Ticker ... ' box.

Any help?

Go to Options - Preferences - Profile Layout. Scroll the sample down to its
signature area. Highlight the sig lines. Then open the color combo box and pick
your favorite color from the list. I chose fuchsia, which is more readable than
the default silver yet still light enough to emphasize that it will be cut from

As for the reason it's so light, that's just developers' choice of colors -- no
significant reason of which I'm aware! Fortunately TB! has lots of
configuration options so we can disagree with their choices...
