Re: Why TB Takes So Long To Queue Messages

Hello Rick,

That said, I always put messages in the Outbox and do not use
immediate sending, so I don't care whether it takes 15 seconds. ;-)

I am wondering if this isn't the normal behavior. I send some things
out via Outlook Express. I watch the sent box and nothing appears
immediately, it all takes a few second. The difference is there is no
 clock to watch.

I would guess that even with email programs where the email seems to
go immediately (The Bat does this too), it is still taking a few
seconds to get out the door

This is bewildering and can't find a solution... as stated before,
Outlook and PocoMail send immediately but TB takes exactly 15 seconds
before processing the outgoing mail. I have tried this with only one
email address and no attachments and it still takes that long. I am
convinced it definitely has to do something with TB on my computer but
what that is is very annoying to say the least.

Re: Rearranging folders

2010-05-28 Thread Jack
Hello,

If I move them via a file manager, it doesn't work.

DC What do you mean about moving them by file manager. Are you changing the
DC folder in which they are stored, or do you mean that you are changing
DC the order in which they are displayed by the file manager?

By file manager, I mean a program that lets me manipulate disk files
(create directories, move files, etc.). I tried navigating into TB's
directory and moving the folders around as I want.

For example, I have

Inbox-Work-Folder A

and I want to move Folder A so that it is

Inbox-Archived-Folder A

That isn't how I've archived. I have an account, called dummy account,
where I have a set of folders for archiving into. It is password
protected, so most of the time anything I do with folders, such as
compacting on closure, or searching, etc, doesn't access those folders.
The password is easy to remember ('password') because it's just to keep
the archived material out of the way unless I need it. So I never move
folders, just contents.

If you are moving lots of folders like Folder A from Work to
Archived and not leaving many behind, why not change the name of
Work to call it Archived, then create a new Work folder and move
back the small amount that's necessary?

And you can automate the moving of contents.
