Sending gmail from TB!

2013-08-30 Thread Jack S. LaRosa
Hello once again,

I recently set up TB to handle my gmail account and receiving gmail proved to be
no problem. Worked perfectly. However, I just recently tried to send an email
from the gmail account within TB and was unsuccessful.

The log shows:

 8/30/2013, 17:41:26: SEND - sending mail message(s) - 1 message(s) in queue
8/30/2013, 17:41:26: SEND - Connecting to SMTP server smtp.gmail.com on port

8/30/2013, 17:41:26: SEND - Some messages were not sent - check the log for
details

I've scoured the archives for a couple of hours now and can't find anything to
solve the problem. I have the gmail account mail transport properties set up as
follows:

SMTP Server is smtp.gmail.com
Secure to regular port (STARTTLS) Port 587
Use SMTP Servers On-The-Go is un-ticked
Nothing is ticked in Authentication

I've tried ticking Servers On-The-Go - no luck
I've ticked Use POP before SMTP Authentication - no luck
I tried changing the port to another suggestion I found in the archives with no
success. I don't remember what it was.

What am I missing?

I take back my previous statement.

I have pefrform smtp authentication ticked, along with same
user/password as for mail retrieval.

Did that work?

I can think of no reason for all this trouble except that TB! is somehow
 broken
and the only solution for that (to my knowledge) is to re-install TB! but I'm
not sure if I can just simply re-install it over the existing TB!.

Yes, you can. In fact, I would try to just installl again over the
existing installation before uninstalling first.
