Re: Need Advice on Backing Up and Reinstalling

I would back up the whole TB! mail directory, the whole TB! program directory, and the relevant registry key. But that is probably overkill. I have used the internal backup and restore function in TB! when moving to a new computer, with no problems at all. On the new computer (in this case, after formatting and reinstalling Windows), download the installer and it will ask you whether you want to restore from a backup. Point it to the backup file, and you'll have a clone of your previous TB!, with fodler, filters, settings and of course mails. For all accounts that you backed up. Even your licence will have been backed up and restored. Can't be more convenient. -- Cheers, Thomas. http://thomas.fernandez.hat-gar-keine-homepage.de/ Message reply created with The Bat! 6.2.6 under Windows 7 6.1 Build 7601 Service Pack 1 Current version is 6.1.8 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Voyager: pryvacy broken in log files?
Hello, I found two files in the folders of one of may IMAP accounts in Voyager: IMAP_1.log SMTP.log These ones contain email text, not encrypted, and I don't know how to avoid that. My questions: - Is there any way to encrypt these log files too? - Or how do I prevent their creation? - Are there any other files in Voyager where data encryption is not effective? I don't have Voyager, but my guess is they could be Protocol Logging files like you can set The Bat! to create. In TB! you go to the properties of an account, then on the tree on the left, under Transport, is an entry called Protocol Logging. On that pane are two tick-boxes and the paths to two files. Protocol Logging is only needed to investigate problems with sending or receiving mail. -- Best regards MFPAmailto:2014-667rhzu3dc-lists-gro...@riseup.net Only dead fish go with the flow Using The Bat! v4.0.38 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 3 Current version is 6.1.8 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
