My initial guess was TLS certificate issues, but the log for your account that is trying to connect on port 110 doesn't mention TLS handshake so it can't be that. Before looking too far, I would try re-entering passwords. And maybe logging into the GMX website in case there was anything relevant there. -- Best regards MFPAmailto:2014-667rhzu3dc-lists-gro...@riseup.net Is it bad luck to be superstitious? Re: data files on computer B but working directory on computer A?
Hello Achdut18, So, why does the “working directory” need to be on “A” in order for The Bat! on B to work? M I am not sure if this may be the cause but, what is your setting in M Options/Preferences/System/Mail directory? That's it! The setting in options/Preference/System/Mail directory points to \\Desktop A\c\MAIL\ Changing the location fixed the problem! Glad to hear it worked :-) This, however, leaves me with a few questions: 1. If the e-mail client and data files are on B, but Options/Preferences/System points to A, how is what is on A being functionally used? The MAIL directory, aside normally including the accounts directories, includes a number of files for 'system' (not account specific) configurations, options, preferences, customization, etc., and some of them are updated every time TBV is run. That's why TB 'complained', because it could not access those file in A. 2. When in Options/Preferences/System on B and pointed to the data directory on B, a pop-up dialogue box listed all the data files on A, including so-called cache files I don't even see on A and asked if I wanted to overwrite the files on B and if so, to highlight the file and then tap the space bar for each file on A that I wanted to overwrite on B. Since the most current files were on B, I didn't do this. However, is this an easy way to copy data files from one computer to another? When I moved the data files to B, I copied and pasted the files over our home network from A to B and then changed the properties for each account. Would this have been done automatically just by changing the location in Options/Preferences/System? And, if so, does that MOVE the files from A to B or does it just COPY them from A to B? I don't have an answer for this one, sorry, because I never moved my TB from one computer to another. -- Best regards, Miguel A. I'm left puzzled about why several other programs worked when TB didn't.
