Daily digests of Yahoo groups displys ugly
Hello listmates, I am rather new to The Bat! and have a question about mailing lists other than this one, more specifically Yahoo groups with the daily digest option and Fully featured display selected. The latter generates a HTML view with links to each message which is quite handy. In The Bat however, these digests show up with all kinds of text sizes in a seemingly random way. Is there a way I can prevent that? I also noticed that the digests of this list are handled differently, The Bat creates a tab for each message in the digest. Is that something you can get for Yahoo group digests as well? Thanks in advance! Re[2]: Daily digests of Yahoo groups displys ugly
Hi Rick, Thunderbird does -- at least it's readable, I don't know if it's correct or not. When Yahoo started with the fully featured thing, I thought it was just a pain in the ash, but later on I began to appreciate it -- don't know if that was due to some improvements they made. I have just migrated from Thunderbird to The Bat, and I expect EVERYTHING to be better or at least as good as in Thunderbird, but maybe that is a bit too much! Migrating from Thunderbird to The Bat
Hi all, I have just installed The Bat and I feel that I have come home at last. This software was made for me. The only thing that bugs me at the moment is that I would like to move or copy my email history from Thunderbird to The Bat -- but I can't figure out how. The import wizard doesn't list Thunderbird, and I can't find any function in Thunderbird to export the email archives to a standard format. Does anybody know how I move my stuff to The Bat? Many thanks in advance! Re: behavior of ritlabs is dangerous !
Message received at: 9/1/2004:9:07 AM W My behavior with IT is to never pay for a soft. That why I always W use free software (GNU, open office, ...) W (And for windows XP : XP was packaged with my labtop ! :-) ) W Watch out, I don't speak about illegal version ! It's not a good W behavior to... W For the first time of my life, I take my credit card for order a W soft : it was for TB V2 3 month ago ! W I think it was an error : I hesitated with foxmail at this time and W you know, I would have chosen foxmail I likewise have rarely paid for software but felt that I had finally found what I needed with TB as my e-mail client. So I was kind of put off cause I would have expected to get a year out of my subscription. I just looked back and I actually subscribed on 2/16/04 so I guess I got 6.5 months out of it. I will look at some of the other clients and see if it's worth the $$ to re-up. However, as a hopeless tinkerer and configurer, I suspect I will pony-up (on 10/1/04). -- DanG 'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, `it means just what I choose it to mean -- neither more nor less.' Re: MyMacros - getting it
Message received at: 8/10/2004:9:16 AM EC Dear DanG, EC-- Sonntag, 8. August 2004, 19:39:53: e.g., I use Nod (which I recommend highly), which puts that comforting blurb at the bottom of any message that comes in: The above shows how it worked. In responding to Ed's message, it snipped the line: __ NOD32 1.834 (20040804) Information __ and everything beyond it because it was in the body of the original message. That is probably not what one would want because, in this case, it cut some of the relevant text. But this is an unusual case. -- DanG 'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, `it means just what I choose it to mean -- neither more nor less.' VF's - just got it
Finally figured out what these things are good for. Searched TBUDL for mymacros (yeah I'm having difficulty using the new %SmartQuotes also) and the result list offered me the option of porting the list to a VF and create an automatic filter for it. So, I now have a VF on that topic (and a couple others now). Great idea! -- DanG `When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, `it means just what I choose it to mean -- neither more nor less.' MyMacros - getting it
So, since I read everyone else's stuff on the new MyMacros, particularly re %SmartQuotes, I figured this out. When I reply to a message, if there is something in the quoted section that is extraneous, I copy it, got to the plugins configure window for MyMacros, paste those lines in either hello word or goodbye words and, poof, they don't show up in the quoted text anymore. e.g., I use Nod (which I recommend highly), which puts that comforting blurb at the bottom of any message that comes in: __ NOD32 1.834 (20040804) Information __ This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system. http://www.nod32.com So, I put it in Goodbye words and it doesn't get quoted anymore. dueling templates
I was about to send an SOS here but I figured it out. I have specific templates for my work folder, using my work reply-to and leaving out the humpty dumpty, etc. I had the '%attachments' macro in there so if an attachment somehow didn't get to where it needed to go, I and the recipient would at least know I sent it. But...I was noticing that sometimes when I entered the recipients into the To: or CC: field, the 'attachments: ' part of the template would go away. The only exception was when I sent something to myself at my work email address. Figured it out. I had another set of templates for an address book folder with all the work people in it. I used it to filter/direct work related stuff to the 'work' folder. But those templates did not have the %attachment macro in there. That address group does not include myself. So, if I opened a new message from the 'work' folder the 'attached files: (%attachments)' was there. But soon as I entered any recipient from the 'work' address group, the template defaulted back to the one associated with the address group. -- DanG `When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, `it means just what I choose it to mean -- neither more nor less.' I've used it for years and it's caught everything the ether has thrown my way. Re: coffee mugs in TB
Message received at: 6/2/2004:10:21 PM RK Ok, either I'm seeing things or TB 2.11 displays coffee mugs RK instead of ( c ) and( C ) (without the extra spaces). Mine only does it with the capital: (c) (C) ( C ) Go figure. It's in the smiley dictionary Leif distributed to TBBeta (mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]) Don't know if he's put it here but now that smilies are mainstream with 2.11, it might be good to have. -- DanG 'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, `it means just what I choose it to mean -- neither more nor less.'
