RE: storage

2002-08-27 Thread Daniel Morton

thanks. I have tried importing 1 folder at a time but some folders are too large. The
entire mail file I am trying to import is only 125mb so I can't see how a single
folder should be such a problem but agreed it I do believe it might be the swap. don't
suppose I can change the swap file size?

Hmmm. TB has no size limit (other than the drive's size), so I guess
it may be the swap file. Rather than changing your Windows setting, I
would try to import the messages in chunks, i.e. not all at the same
time. I don't know whether it is possible, though (never used the new
import-from-Outlook function).

BTW I love the size of your footer. Almost missed the actual message,
though. ;-)

thanks, much appreciated. I tried importing just 1 folder at a time but 1 folder is
"too large" so I guess I should break up that folder.

There is no problem storing the data in TB - it has an enormous
capacity. The problem is in the import routines. You may have to do
the job in stages. Move half of the messages out of Outlook, import
what's left, delete them from Outlook, bring back the externally
saved messages, import them and that should do it.

storage

2002-08-27 Thread Daniel Morton

I am importing messages into the BAT from outlook and the importing is working but it
stops 1/2 way and says there is no more storage capacity for this application to
continue. I can't see any file size/account size limits on my email account and my
harddrive has space. I have looked in the help and FAQ and didn't find anything. pls
help.

change email address

2001-07-03 Thread Daniel Morton

Dear TBUDL,

Sorry to disturb you all for admin questions but I want to change my
email address for the discussion group. I went to the bat website and
sent the request to the information section but I have still not heard
back and this is 4/5 weeks ago. My problem is that I want to use
webmail and I get 2 personal messages and 100 bat newsgroup messages
so I just want to create a mail account for the bat program. Any ideas
how I can change my email address? thanks.

Best regards,
Daniel

MAPI Failure - novice question

2001-06-06 Thread Daniel Morton

Dear TBUDL,

I use THE BAT for all my emails. When I am in other programs such as
Word there is the send to function (to send the word document as an
email) but it then asks for a username and pwd. I tried every username
and pwd I have including the one for my connection to my mail server.
I am pretty sure that THE BAT is my default mail program but can't
figure out how to get it to work. Doesn't work for IE pages that I
want to send either. thanks.

Missing attached file Alert

2001-05-04 Thread Daniel Morton

Dear TBUDL,

Is there a way, for an amateur like myself, to make it so that THE BAT
will alert me before sending an email with the word "attach" that
there is no attachment? I would like to avoid sending out mails where
I forget to attach the file and have the email program tell me? is
there an option for this or a prewritten macro I can copy? thanks all.

Best regards,
Daniel

Hello TBUDL,

Sorry for the niave question but when I past my emails in from word
the text just wraps after paragraphs. I don't know if then in the Bat
I should manually create carriage returns to make it look good on my
screen or send it with sentences going way off my screen hoping that
the recipients email program will realign it. thank for any guidance.

IMAP webmail solution

Hello TBUDL,

I am a novice so please go easy on the technical words. I have been
asked by my more technically minded colleague to find a good IMAP
webmail program. I don't think thebat can do this, unless I am
mistaken. Does anyone have one to recommend? thanks.

New to the BAT, virus question

2000-12-20 Thread Daniel Morton

Hello TBUDL,

and thanks for all your quick responses to my reply message template
question. I was using Outlook and got a virus so my life was ruined
for a week. I then tried Netscape and thought I would have to buy
more ram to send emails to my mother. I looked Eudora and people
were complaining, so every seems happy with The bat which I am now
using. What I want to know is about its virus protection system and
spam mail. OE is targetted for viruses (using its address book)
either b/c it is known or vulnerable or both. Is The Bat address
book and file attachment system and whatever else makes email
programs susceptible better protected again virus proliferation? and
how about spam mail, what can I do to stop it coming through?
much obliged, just searching for a lifeline solution.

Reply message question

2000-12-20 Thread Daniel Morton

Hello TBUDL,

I am not sure this is the correct forum but I can't figure out when I
hit reply how to put my reply at the top of the message and the
message I received at the bottom. Currently my message appears at the
bottom. I have looked at the FAQ and I think my question is too
elementary to be there and I looked in the help and I think it might
have to do with the reply template, but I couldn't see where I edit or
view all these macros. thanks.
