Re: What is winmail.dat file attachment? EOM
Hi, I have my data back and the utility for getting any information from WINMAIL.DAT files is a utility called WMPARSER. You can do a search on Google for it. Some of the links it turns up don't go anywhere, so you might have to try. -- Regards, Ian A. How do I merge two message bases?
Hi, I finally received the recovered hard drive data from my failed hard drive from the data recovery service. The drive with the recovered data is mounted in an external hard drive case and the data is there, but now do I merge it with the data that I have on the new drive on my notebook? The import function only has options where the other data has already been exported, and the synchronise function needs to have the data on a functioning system. I would prefer to be able to just copy or bring in the data from the recovered data files, but if this is not going to be possible, I do have The Bat! installed on a spare Win98 system. Do get this message base onto that computer, would it simply be a matter of copying the relevant recovered data files over to it and then doing a synchronise? Are there any other utilities that can help out here? Thanks. -- Regards, Ian A. Paul, Anyhow,I thought I'd let you know I did it the brute force way (added all the original files into a Zip archive, then copied the files over from Text Pad and I can now customise or customize to my heart's content without the red squiggle ;-) -- Regards, Ian A. If downloaded and installed it anyway, but it made no difference. Anyhow, I know how to fix its little red wagon. I am also a licensed user of Text Pad, and it uses the same spelling engine as The Bat!. I have a couple of choices. I could archive the dictionary files and copy the ones over from Text Pad, or if someone can point me as to which one is the British English one I can copy just it over. In Text Pad, customise is considered correct, and it still picks up the difference between aluminum and aluminium. Do you know which file is the "problem" one? -- Regards, Ian A. Mine is set to British English, but while it picks up the difference between aluminum and aluminium, it considers customise incorrect. Also it is a pity that my hard disk crashed as before that I had Office97 and the dictionary from that could be used. There I had an Australian English dictionary and it had things like place names and the like that were accepted. The interesting thing is that when I look at the Spell Checker|Dictionaries it still says American English when I have set the language to British English. -- Regards, Ian A. Alternative dictionaries?
Hi, After rebuilding my system after a hard disk failure, I decided to install Office 2000 straight up without first installing Office 97. As a result I lost the use of the dictionaries from Office 97. Are there any alternative dictionaries available for The Bat!?
