Re: Several Spams that will not filter.
Hello Mark, Thursday, November 13, 2003, 10:33:56 AM, you wrote: I get 5 or 6 Spams for digital cable filters daily, and for some really strange reason, I cannot get a filter to work on one of them. Have you tried regular Inbox-filters or selective download filters? AFAIK selective download filters do not check the body, but only the header (or parts of it) of any mail. In case of inbox filters: What kind of action did you chose to be performed? Have you tried placing the filter topmost, so that it is executed prior to all other (inbox-)filters (just to make sure it's not other filters that keep your new filter from working)? Have you clicked ... Rule is [x] Active ... on the very bottom of the Rule pane in the sorting office? An easy way to separate spam form regular mail is using SpamPal or PopFile, either alone or combined with some anti-spam plugin (be it BayesIt, Achim Winkler's bayesfilter-plugin or vampireX). There may be others as well, however, I'm using SpamPal and the BayesIt-plugin and combine them with a set of selective download filters. Works fine for me. -- Best regards, Peter Current version is 2.01.3 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

suggestion: logging for kill filters
Hi everyone, One of my killfilters just finished with an email I would have liked to receive and/or read. I only found out by comparing the log from spampal ... SpamPalLog 030924-135311 -- none [EMAIL PROTECTED] SpamPalLog [EMAIL PROTECTED] Confirmation -- send email when the item is in stock ... with TB!'s log TB!'s_log 24.09.2003, 13:53:11: FETCH - 1 messages in the mailbox, 0 new TB!'s_log 24.09.2003, 13:53:12: FETCH - connection finished - 0 messages received I have some 16 killfilters, all of which refer to external textfiles, and they (the textfiles!) total to some 37k. Up to now I failed to spot the reason, why this mail has been killed. A more detailed log would definitly make my search easier. Would you also like to have log list the reason(s) why any mail has been deleted on the server? Is there sufficient interest to add the matter to the wishlist? -- still searching, Peter Current version is 2.00 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Alt-F6 does not start the scheduler
Using the mouse in [Tools] - [Scheduler Alt+F6] starts the scheduler. Using the key-combination Alt+F6 (as suggested in the menu) does not. If I try Alt+F6 right after having started TB!, this combination seems to show no effect whatsoever. However, once I have (alt least) one other window in TB! opened for - say - composing or reading a message, Alt+F6 toggles between this opened window and the general view that is shown right after the start of TB!. Did I miss something? Shouldn't Alt+F6 start the scheduler? I have never changed shortcuts for any functions in TB!. I use TB! v2.00 and pop accounts only and this is my first try of the scheduler. Running Win98SE and 512 MB ram. Can anyone confirm - or even better - give a hin on how to make it work? cannot save notification settings in scheduler
I have added an event in the scheduler, klicked on [x]Notify me about this event 10 minutes before it starts ... but TB! seems to forget whatever I enter in the notification parameters pane. It does not play the sound file stated, it does not repeat playing it, it just gives me a reminder window. The next time I try to check the settings of the Notification parameters no such settings can be seen. Also the [x] in ... [x] use as default is gone. My first idea was to check if any of TB!'s files was read only. Not the case. I'm running Win98SE, TB! v2.0, only pop accounts, 512 MB Ram. I have not tried the scheduler in any of the beta versions before. Any ideas on how to make it work (apart from calling it a bug and waiting for help from Stefan and his team)? -- Peter Current version is 2.00 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

avoid automatic bcc if 2 addresses are in addressbook
Hi everyone, I just noticed some TB behaviour that I'd rather turn off: In TB's addressbook you can enter more than one email address for one person. This is what I did. The next time I used this entry in the addressbook to send mail, TB did not (as I hoped and assumed it would do) just send the email to the first address listed *only*, but it also sent the email bcc to all other email addresses I had entered for this person. Now, I agree this will probably be the best way to make sure my mail reaches the addressee, however, I would rather send the mail to the first mail address listed only. I have entered private and office mail address in one and the same entry of this person in my addressbook and whenever I want to choose the email address listed second, I'll look it up and cut and paste it in. One way to achieve my aim is to enter this person twice in my addressbook, once with his private address and another time with his office address. I might also choose to "View - Blind CC" and just clear the BCC field before posting (which is what I do now) but maybe there is a switch somewhere in the options, I have missed so far. Any ideas? Peter that TB automatically sends a message bcc to all other e-mail addresses listed for a person in the addressbook -- Liebe Grüße, Peter -- -- View the TBUDL archive at http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com To send a message to the list moderation team double click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe from TBUDL, double click here and send the message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org
