Re: lost folders and filters
Chris, Thankyou so much. I turned on sticky keys and did the key combination. Message was something like no folders found. Then I tried folder repair and maintenancefolders all turned up in that program, were scanned and comment nothing to fix appeared, but said one folder doesn't exist. at the end of this most of my messages and folders are not visable. An quite impossible key combination with only one hand ;) For the time being, turn on StickyKeys. This will allow you to execute any key combination with one hand. To turn on StickyKeys, open Accessibility Options in the Control Panel, check the box, and click OK. You may want to investigate some of the other options to see if they would be useful. Re: lost folders and filters
I can't thank you enough! I hit tabs and they are back. Sandy I seem to remember reading about something like ctrl+alt+shift+L to find lost folders that are still in the right place on disk but not showing up in TB! but cannot remember details. Do you have tabs at bottom of your folder list? You may just have the clicked onto a tab viewing only folders with unread messages, for example. Hope your arm is on the mend. Freezing up Bat/computer
Hello, I have The Bat version 2.11.02. Recently, I find that when I write an email the Bat just freezes up and I have to turn off computer. Other times when I turn on the Bat, even though there are messages, I get the message no message loaded. These incidents do not occur all the time and I don't know what triggers the event although the freezing occurs when computer has been on a few hours. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Sandy Current version is 3.62.14 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re[2]: Freezing up Bat/computer
Thanks for writing. I'll try that version Sandy Not perhaps a very direct answer/solution, but one (just one, might be there are better ones) suggestion is at the moment, to try the version 2.12.00 instead. I use it for years (both in Win98SE, XP and Linux[es], being on sometimes for several days) and never had any of such or similar problems. This version is really very stable and reliable. importing old messages
Hello Something happened to my Bat program and everytime I clicked on the trash folder, the program locked up, so I uninstalled the program and re-installed The Bat. It would not work until I started over with a totally new install and I did not keep old settings etc. I have everything working but is there a way to get the old messages and folders into this copy of The Bat? (I can see the old messages are saved in a folder named Sandy. Thanks, Sandy Current version is 2.04.7 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Can't delete or move message
Hello, I recieved a spam message in my inbox. I can't delete it or move it to the trash folder. When I finally did open it, I got a message that an error had occured to the folder (forgot the exact words) and did I want to repair it now? How can I get rid of this message? BTW, my messages are filtered to various folders and my inbox and inbox known seem to collect the spam. Is it possible to move/ active sync Bat email messages to Pocket PC(IPAQ 3970_
Hi, Does anyone know where I could find some information on moving some BAT email to my IPAQ 3975? I like to read the mail at work during my lunch hour. I pick up the mail on my desktop and move it with active sync. I temporarily stopped using The Bat and used Outlook because it works so well with Active sync but I prefer The Bat and also had quite a few problems with Outlook. need help with norton 2002
Hi Everyone, I apologize for this elementary question but I can't find the answer in the FAQs. I upgraded to Norton 2002 and now I cannot get my incoming mail on the bat and I don't think I have the programmed properly configured to scan my email and attachments. I was able to do this with 2001 by manually configuring the program. I do not know exactly how to use the plug-in Thanks in advance, Sandy P.S. Re: need help with norton 2002
Norton 2001 and earlier used a POP3 proxy that they ran on 127.0.0.1. Installation put a line in the etc/hosts file (well, the Windows equivalent) of something like pop3.norton.antivirus. You probably set TB! to use it by using that address as your POP3 server and putting the real server name and your account name into the User field of the Receive Mail part of the Transport part of the account properties. If that's the case, just go back to defining your real POP3 server and User name. I had to go through this same stuff about a week ago, myself. Hope this helps. Steve. Steve, THANK YOU so much. You gave me the exact solution to the problem. I really appreciate your prompt help. Re: Version chaos
Had a strange experience a few days ago when I was surfing with Opera and I checked my mail in TB! at the same time I went back to Opera and my skin had disappeared (on Opera, not my own - LOL) and then a few minutes later I went to access my bookmarks and they were all gone. They were still in the Opera folder but not recognized. Hi Dave, I was running running Opera and The Bat at the same time and my skin and bookmarks also disappeared. Last night I downloaded Opera 6.02 and it's ok I can't seem to find my bookmarks (any hints how to find them?) Re: Version chaos
If you've reinstalled O6.02 over your old installation then I doubt if you've replaced the original bookmarks file. You will need to import it back into O. The file to import is Opera6.adr If you've done an uninstall and then a fresh install, then you've lost it I guess :-( With best wishes, Dave, Thanks so much I found my bookmarks and imported them. Re: Version chaos
Look for *.ADR files in your Opera directory. I had the same problem. For some reason Opera stopped using my opera5.adr file and suddenly started using an opera6.adr file. When I renamed 5 to 6, everything was fine, or was it the other way around. Make backup copies first. The bigger file is the one you need. The file used is defined in an INI file. Thanks. I found them and imported the bookmarks.
