The latter is probably more difficult, as The Bat!
stores a lot of
settings in the registry. But then, as we see with
Voyager, this isn't
impossible. For now I think, the easier way for RIT
would be to allow
 to install Voyager without encryption.

You can set and remove reg entries, before and after
use of TB. Like with GnuPG, if you remember.

Unfortunately, injecting registry entries isn't always
possible. In some of the places I work at the registry
is write protected, i.e., .reg files don't work, so
only portable programs that truly don't rely on the
registry can work.

unencrypted voyager base?

2006-09-15 Thread SGP
Is it possible to set up voyager so that it doesn't encrypt its data and
messages?
I want to create an encrypted volume on my USB key, therefore voyager's
encryption is a duplication. I also want to look at/modify voyager's
configuration files, something I can't do if its configuration is encrypted.

I do want to run voyager instead of TB because voyager is nearly portable
--tough I read on the German forum that even voyager writes some keys to the
Registry, but hopefully that will go away in a few more revisions.

If Voyager can't be run unencrypted, can TB be run portable?

questions before switching over from Outlook

2004-04-19 Thread sgp
I keep my eyes set on TB and evaluate it periodically because I'd like
to switch over from Outlook. Version 2.1.01 comes pretty close to what I
need, but I have have some concerns, the main one being that IMAP is
buggy. I also have some questions:

1. What is the best way to quote html messages so that html is actually
preserved?
- When I use %Quotes, html gets completely filtered out, some words run
together in the quoted text, and other oddities.
- When I cut html from the viewer and paste it into the html editor all
I get is simple text.
So, is there some way at all to reuse html from a received message?

2. Are other users using external html editors? which ones? how?

3. Is there a way to collect incoming mail from several POP3 accounts
into one single POP3 inbox folder? Mind that I want to be able to use
sorting office _incoming_ mail filters on this folder, so a common
folder won't do because it doesn't support incoming mail filters. What
I'd like to be able to do is to redirect all POP3 accounts into one
inbox so I don't have to redefine the same set of filters for each
account, just one set for the combined inbox.

4. Is the MailTicker supported for IMAP accounts? It doesn't work here.

thanks

Re: disable update Account's data popup dialog?

2003-03-27 Thread SGP

Jonathan,

I just got the same dialog box without Outlook or IMAP even running. The update
Account's data dialog box looks exactly the same. While this time TheBAT! reports the
following protocol error:

date/time: FETCH - Server reports error. The response is: -ERR mailbox locked by a
POP3 session

disable update Account's data popup dialog?

2003-03-25 Thread SGP
Hello,
is it possible to disable the update account's data popup dialog? When it pops up
and I'm not at the keyboard to close it, TB waits forever for a confirmation and so it
stops checking for incoming messages. This isn't OK for me because I'm using TB as a
list processor.

Background: TB checks a pop email account every 1 minute. Outlook also periodically
checks the same email account but as IMAP. My ISP's pop/imap server locks the mailbox
when IMAP is being checked. When this happens TB pops up an OK dialog box that says
-
account_name: check mail
username...
password...
[ ]update Account's data
OK/CANCEL
-
This is the box that I wan't to disable. The log window shows:
date/time FETCH - Server reports error. The response is: -ERR [IN USE] user mailbox
locked.

macro to include output of an external program?

2003-03-25 Thread SGP
Hello,

is there a macro that can aid in including the output of an external program in a
template?

Basically I'd like to be able to specify something like:
---
Dear -%ExecuteExternalProgram=c:\progs\myprog.bat -d1-
bla bla
---
and have it expanded into something like
---
Dear -this text was generated by myprog.bat-
bla bla
---

I realize I could use a %Put=file.txt macro when file.txt already contains the
output text that myprog.bat generated. But in that case how can I start myprog.bat
from within TB before the %Put macro is invoked?
