I'm not using AntiVir so I haven't a clue, just want to update my
notes incase I do decide to switch :)

And does anyone know how to get a listing of what files are in that
blasted directory? I got there by knowing the old file location and
substituting http://www.ritlabs.com/download/files2/ for the former
ftp://www.ritlabs.com/pub/ (which no longer accepts anonymous logins).

After a few replies, and nice rewrapping, your message will end up
looking something like this:

Little messy ;)

DRS database but an occurrence of such is of extremely low possibility.

Why do you describe things as if it all happens immediately?
Conceivably, someone could receive an infected message today when no
definitions are available and then forward it two weeks later after a
definition is issued. Since the virus is contained in a message it won't
be picked up by routine scanning. But it may be picked up by the
plug-in.

Surely, the scan is not about certifying a message clean but rather
saving the sender embarrassment of sending a virus?

Alas, my Sophos plug-in no longer seems to function with TB! 2.01.x and
the latest Sophos build...

No, it doesn't. If you send me a mail with an attachment, I will scan
the attachment anyway before opening, because I won't rely on you
updating the virus signatures. And if Norton (or any virus scanner,
for that matter) allows a virus on your computer in the first place
(so it could theoretically be sent in the attached Excel file), how
trustworthy is your AV software to begin with?

Outgoing virus scans make no sense; and sigs containing this messages
has been certified to be virus-free make even less sense.

Just my € 0.02 worth.

Maybe an automatic update was performed just before sending?

It's possible if you get a virus on the early end of it's
cycle - most scanners will take a little while to detect
that particular virus.

I don't do it though, however I think there is some value
(granted, only a little) in scanning outgoing messages.

Hey Jos - I checked the Ignore plugin status checkbox for the

Guess they have to cater to the masses (OE) to survive. $30 for two

I'm attaching the boxquote template in the attached text file.
Just copy and paste it into a new Quick Template called bq
then when you have something copied to your clipboard that you want
boxquoted, you simple type bq and then press Ctrl+Space
(it will then call the quick template and boxquote the text that you
had in your clipboard, and paste it into your message)
