I've had no more problems since. I had been running a couple of extra programs in the background that I don't normally use and as I was showing plenty of free memory didn't even think about the old resource limitation bug in WIN98. -- Bob Mo®®is Friday, 14 November 2003 Using The Bat! v2.01.3 on Windows 98 4.10 Build A Current version is 2.01.3 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

As Ellen said in MID:[EMAIL PROTECTED] it *seems* to be a resources problem, and related to TB! on W98 setups especially. When I first got The Bat! quite some time back I ran ran it on a W98SE machine for a while and occasionally encountered the same errors (and other W98 users reported the same problems via this list I seem to recall). One of the things I did was to kill and not reload background processes that weren't necessary, and the other was to reboot a couple of times a day. If you have a lot of tray apps, such as hungry virus scanner software, auto defraggers, etc. running background tasks W98 will eventually run out of steam and fall over...and even if you don't it will still run out of steam eventually, IME. ;-) - -- Slán, Simon @ i~n+f~o+w~i+z~a+r~d+.~c+o~.+u~k * PGP Key via Web: http://pgp.infowizard.co.uk/ PGP Key via Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Faffing about with TB! v1.62r on W2K SP4 #732. I find this error typically occurs when my computer is very low on resources. As you discovered, a reboot generally solves the problem. Error: Canvas does not allow drawing
G'day TBUDL Members, Several times today my Bat! has crashed with multiple pop-up warning boxes saying "Canvas does not allow drawing" or "Canvas does not allow". This has happened when I have tried to move a message, and also when opening an existing message to reread it. As the boxes are popping up faster than I can click on the "OK" the only way out has been to CTRL-ALT-DEL. I have tried running the folder maintenance function and it reports no errors (or indeed any action required). Closing and re-opening The Bat! initially solved the problem but it then happened again. I have closed Windows down and rebooted and so far there have been no more problems. Any suggestions as to what might be causing the problem, and how to fix it, would be appreciated. -- Bob Mo®®is Thursday, 13 November 2003 Using The Bat! v2.01.3 on Windows 98 4.10 Build A Current version is 2.01.3 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
