Filter to delete all msgs assigned to color group not working
Battyfolks, See any fallacies in the following filter as I'm not sure it's working? The idea is that certain msgs preceeding the following filter are set to a certain color code. With this filter these msgs are to be deleted. BeginFilter Name: DELETE - all msgs in DELETE COLOR GROUP Active: 1 Source: \\IDT\Inbox Target: \\IDT\Inbox CopyFolder: none MainSet: 00@ Actions: faDelMsg,faoAdvColor, faoAdvAddressOut,faoHotKeyOnly AddGroups: DelGroups: ForwardTemplate: ConfirmTemplate: ReplyTemplate: FwdAddr: RedirectAddr: NewAddr: NewTemplate: ExtCmd: ExtFile: ExtractDir: ColourGroup: delete AddAddrItems: afiFrom, DelAddrItems: afiFrom, HotKey: 57412 IsOfColour: delete SizeBigger: 0 SizeSmaller: 0 AgeOlder: 0 AgeNewer: 0 InAddrPos: 0 OutAddrPos: 4 InAddrGroups: NoAddrGroups: KillFile: KillMethod: 0 SaveTemplate: SndFile: SysSound: 0 SoundTime: 0:00-0:00 AllowTime: 0:00-0:00 EndFilter -- Jan Rifkinson Ridgefield, CT USA TB! You're mentioning that you want to delete messages belonging to a certain colour group. But at the advanced tab you've also checked that the sender and all recipients should be part of your AB. Is this intentional? -- Groetjes, Roelof Disclaimer: Any opinion stated in this message is not necessarily shared by my budgies or rabbits. I think it says should *NOT* be part of my AB , yes, that is intentional. Advanced: Address(es) must not be listed in the address book Items: sender all recipients Just being conservative since it is a delete filter which I will probably move to delete on server once I'm sure of it. -- Jan Rifkinson Ridgefield, CT USA TB! Yes, of course that's what I should've said, but I was called away by an acquaintance of mine (definitely not a friend) who had severe computer problems. So I finished my message in a rush. Problem was easy. Went back to a restore point of last Saturday, that kid is definitely too dumb to own a computer. You were afraid of your filter not functioning correctly. Why? Did it not delete messages you expected it to delete or did it delete messages you didn't expect it to delete? Or were you just afraid that you might have overlooked something? When you'rew doubting a 'delete' filter, you can always set it up as a 'move' filter, so you can follow its behaviour for a couple of hours, days or weeks. And when you're satisfied turn it into a deleting filter. -- Groetjes, Roelof Disclaimer: Any opinion stated in this message is not necessarily shared by my budgies or rabbits. In fact, I have been following this filter for a while. As a last step, I asked TB! to flag all msgs added to this color group as a test delete if you will. However, TB! didn't flag these msgs so I started to wonder. I guess I could try a move instead. -- Jan Rifkinson Ridgefield, CT USA TB!
