Have you tried various messages. I am also having this problem, but only with
some messages. I have been trying to establish a trend before I reported it.The
one thing I know is that it is when replying to an Outlook created message, but
I have no idea if that is related.

A) Is this so in all folders/accounts?

Stuart,

This is consistent for all F4 replies for both my account (primary)
and that of my wife. It just started over this past weekend. I tried
reinstalling 4.0.18 with no improvement. I tend not to use Beta
versions so I did not download a new installation from the web site.

I have not paid attention to the writer's e-mail client, but I will
start to do so now.

Thanks.

Leonard

I do not filter incoming e-mail into different folders, so this
applies to my in-box folder.

Yes, all accounts.

I do not understand your point in B). Does this refer to something
that I am doing improperly in terms of TBUDL etiquette? or a possible
solution to my problem?

Have you tried F7 instead of F4? I've found that for an unknown
reason when I have it running on XP SP2 box, it is F7. Don't know if
related to the OS or some setting I've not found.

On this Vista Home Premium box it is the F4 it has always been.

Well, that works like a charm. On this message at least grin

The mystery remains about why the F4 stopped working.

Thanks,

I don't know why, but on the XP box the F4 does a reply with an empty
reply message, which is same thing you describe.

Like your situation, I have no idea of the reason for difference.
I've tried to check settings pretty carefully between the two, but
can't see any differencesexcept for the ones I missed, I'm sure.

Probably not the same problem I have as F4 works on almost all messages except
for a few. Also F7 brings up the Message finder.

To check what shortcut is set for Reply Quoting Selected Text select
View/Toolbars/Customize and select the Shortcuts Tab. Then select Main
Form/Main Menu/Specials and look for Reply Quoting Selected Text. If its not F4
you should be able to change it.

I will try that. Thanks for the tip.

I am also wondering whether this is function (no pun intended) of my
keyboard. F7 is labeled Reply while F4 is labeled New.

Well, Reply Quoting Selected Text is set for F4! I am going to leave
things alone as I seem to have something that works and is
predictable.
