POP log

2009-12-22 Thread Luc
 Good morning list,

My pop log is getting realy realy big ... instead of always deleting
it, is there a setting i can turn off? (i guess not but it's worth
 the question).

Or do i need some script for that?

Of course there is. For normal use the protocol logs aren't of much
use, they're intended to be used in case of problems. The default is
that they're off.

Account - Properties - Transport - Protocol logging

Keep in mind that it's an account setting, so you've got to disable it
for all of your accounts.

Grrr, so many accounts and just one had it enabled. My impression was
that all were disabled, hence me being confuzzled...

As your pop log includes the text and attachments of every message
that you receive it tends to grow, especially when you receive lots of
attachments. 40 GB seems a bit excessive though.
You mentioned 'always deleting' in your start post. I'm just wondering
when was the last time that you did so.

Yeah, the account in question is for a heavy list and the last and
first time i deleted the log was yesterday. I.O.W. it's been
acumulating stuff for a long, long period.
