Redirect sets Reply-To to me

2002-08-11 Thread Ben Kennish

Hi all,

Redirect does not seem to set the Reply-To: line and as such is a
bit useless as I redirect mail from someone and when the intended
receiver gets the email, they end up writing back to me.

Is this a bug?

TIA

BK Is this a bug?

No. It's because you have Reply-To information in the account
details. I removed these from mine (since they invariable match the
from details) and the problem goes away.

Works fine over here.

When redirecting a message, the original From: is retained, so no
Reply-To is needed, I'd say. And if the original message had a Reply-To
set, the same Reply-To is inserted into the redirected message.

Thanks! It works now I have removed the Reply-To. But out of
curiosity, why isn't there an option in the settings that lets you
clear reply-to on redirect ?

Shall I post it as a feature request?

Cheers,

That is your privilege. Keep in mind that you do not need to insert
anything under Reply-To if you want people to reply to the address
from which you send.

But one thing I would like to advise is that optional settings can be
overdone. Please have a look here:

RMR what's that?

Did you take a look at the URL? It shows (in an animated gif) the
myriad of options for an application. The options are so many as to
confuse any user. That was my point.
