Re: The buttons 'previous' and 'next'
Hello Allie and Roelof, Oh. This is likely the root of your problem. You're assuming all the folders are the same. I'm not *assuming*, all my folders ARE the same. BH What exactly do you mean by 'settings'? Thread by references, sort on created date, that kind of things, not to forget purging settings. OK. Yes, all my folders have the same settings. Each folder can be configured to sort message lists differently, depending on the folder view mode you configure the folder to use. Which I didn't learn how to do until yesterday. That was one of my questions, in the message with the subject View mode. As I haven't tried it out yet, my folders are still the same. So I guess my original question remains unanswered. -- Best regards, Britt Henrikson Using TB! 2.10.03 on Win2000 Current version is 2.11.02 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

It's not a bug since I've never experienced or heard of anyone experience any buggy behaviour with regards to what you may be referring to in your original query. :) Usually it's just that how TB! works isn't fully understood. -- -=[ :Allie: ]=- List Moderator and fellow end-user PGPKeys: http://key.ac-martin.com pgpma4D2zzZKl.pgp Description: PGP signature Current version is 2.11.02 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
The buttons 'previous' and 'next'
In some folders the next msg (newer, I have them sorted by date) is opened with the 'next' button, in others with 'previous'. This is very confusing. Is it a bug? -- Best regards, Britt Henrikson Using TB! 2.10.03 on Win2000 Current version is 2.11.02 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

This is very BH confusing. Is it a bug? Depends on the message you've selected, I'd guess. TB remembers the message you were viewing the last time you were in that folder. When that message doesn't exist anymore when you enter that folder again TB has to focus on a new message. Depending on your folder settings that could give you different results. In my experience TB behaves the same in folders with identical settings. -- Groetjes, Roelof Disclaimer: Any opinion stated in this message is not necessarily shared by my budgies or rabbits. Hallo Roelof, BH In some folders the next msg (newer, I have them sorted by date) is BH opened with the 'next' button, in others with 'previous'. Depends on the message you've selected, I'd guess. No. What I was trying to say was that in certain folders, I *always* have to use the button 'next' to go from older to newer mails, in other folders I *always* have to use the button 'previous'. TB remembers the message you were viewing the last time you were in that folder. When that message doesn't exist anymore when you enter that folder again TB has to focus on a new message. Depending on your folder settings that could give you different results. I'm not sure I can follow you here, but I'll try different ways and pay attention to exactly what it is I'm doing. In my experience TB behaves the same in folders with identical settings. What exactly do you mean by 'settings'? Column settings? They are the same in every folder. -- Best regards, Britt Henrikson Using TB! 2.10.03 on Win2000 Current version is 2.11.02 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

This is likely the root of your problem. You're assuming all the folders are the same. When you open a message in its own window, you're actually opening a browse window for that folder. That window goes through the messages using its own message list, whether or not you have that message list displayed. Display the message list for a view folder window by going to View//Message List. This message list can be adjusted to sort messages in a different way from the main window. Each folder can be configured to sort message lists differently, depending on the folder view mode you configure the folder to use. -- -=[ Allie ]=- :acm: List Moderator and fellow end-user PGPKeys: http://key.ac-martin.com Running The Bat! v2.12 Beta/8 on WinXP Pro (SP1) pgp6u3hM9oNmL.pgp Description: PGP signature Current version is 2.11.02 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
