Yes, it is. But it took me a while to find it.

The feature first appeared with a beta release. I think it was v2.13
Lucky Beta/2:
[+] Other: Cmd Line param /reg: for running TB!
from different reg key (in form ProductName+)

This was the description without further explanation, and then one of
the list members wrote this. It's very simple and it seemed to work
for him:

,- / MaXXX in mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] \
| Just set up a separate directory for TB! Beta, and run it as
| "thebat.exe /reg:beta". It will create and begin using its own
| registry branch, separately from your normal TB usage. This way you
| can have a stable (okay, semi-stable) TB! for your everyday usage, and
| a (buggy to hell and back) beta for testing purposes.

Tell us how it goes. I haven't tried it personally.

. It is not enough to succeed. Others must fail.

Using 2 different configurations...

2004-10-02 Thread Stephane Bouvard [ML]
Hi,

I would like to define two completly different configurations of The Bat on the same
computer / user account...

I've searched the archive, and i've found some answer for version 1.6 manipulating the
registry, but also telling that the situation will change in version 2... i have now
the version 3, so, can you tell me if there is something new ? Is it possible to
start TheBat with a specific commandline to use another settings ?

In fact, here is what i would like to do...

I have a first The Bat on my desktop computer, using POP3 accounts. This version is
configured to store every messages into a network folder.

I would like to access the same message base on the network from my laptop when i'm in
my house, using WiFi...

That is working, no problem...

But i would like also to use The Bat! on my laptop when i'm *not* at home, and thus
when i cannot access the network folders... in that case, i would like to use IMAP
protocol and leave messages on the server, allowing me to download it to my network
folders later when i'm at home...

I cannot use two different user accounts on my laptop, as i use some "Offline folders"
of Microsoft, these online folders are only available to the same user on and off the
network...

Thanks in advance

Best regards...
