Upstream's maintenance release statement (This is enforced on all core xfce
components, but followed by all xfce programs):
There may be no API/ABI changes in maintenance releases compared to the
corresponding final release of the Xfce core desktop. They also must
follow the X.Y.Z versioning format, where Y is an even number (e.g.
xfwm4-4.8.4 or thunar-1.2.4). No new features or strings may be introduced
in
these releases.
Upstream has manual testers for all components, and a very small number of
people actually allowed to make releases. Xubuntu and Debian also test the
packages extensively.
The package list is below. Ideally we'd have all included, but due to the
QA issues, only one or two categories might be allowed. (Ordered safest to

I'm requesting that the xfce desktop environment is added to the MRE

Upstream releases microreleases fairly regularly for bugfixes, and the
xubuntu team would like to be able to add these to stable releases. There
is an active testing team in ubuntu to ensure these releases are stable,
as
well as active packagers in ubuntu and debian.
Can you please provide references to upstream's policy for these
microreleases, as well as pointers to the upstream QA procedures that are
in
place?
Also, a list of the precise list of source packages you want us to consider
would be helpful.
Thanks,
