Re: Live media changes systemtime to UTC
Hi, I did not change the system away from UTC. I loaded the Live media, not an install, still boot the usb iso, then shutdown and started Windows 8.1. Windows 8.1 showed after the short boot of Live Media (not install!) a to UTC changed system time. There is a different time handling in Windows and the F22 Live media. When I have F22 on my external disk, normal install not touching time handling and boot the external disk, the system time remains unchanged. How it is wth a DVD iso, so far I didn't test. Re: Live media changes systemtime to UTC
Hi I just saw in a live end message F20 an unclosed bug for this problem https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1018162 dealing with DVD iso. So the problem was in F20, in F21 I did not see this (but it may be, that it was also in F21, I don't know), in F22 the problem occurs again. For F22 I submitted Bug 1226427 I think it's duplicate of 1018162 F20. Re: Live media changes systemtime to UTC
Hi, just have tested this problem on F21: Fedora-Live-Workstation-x86_64-21-5.iso. this problem does not occur with Fedora-Live-Workstation-x86_64-21-5.iso. To make a resume: Only loading a Fedora live media iso, also not installing these media, leads to a change of system time to UTC, tested via booting Windows 8.1 afterwards, - in F20 LXDE i686 and - in F22 Workstation x86_64 but not - in F21 Workstation x86_64 For me it seems an error occured in F20 was corrected in F21 and occurs again in F22 Kind Regards -Ursprüngliche Mitteilung- Von: Gavin Flower gavinflo...@archidevsys.co.nz An: For testing and quality assurance of Fedora releases test@lists.fedoraproject.org Verschickt: Fr, 29 Mai 2015 10:28 pm Betreff: Re: Live media changes systemtime to UTC On 30/05/15 04:59, Joerg Lechner wrote: Hi, I add this comment about F22 here, even when F22 is now distributed as final, because I think this problem will also occur in F23. You are ignoring the fact, that other OSes require the RTC to be set to local time and do *NOT SUPPORT* RTC set to UTC. = Fedora cannot avoid having to support RTC in local time if Fedora is supposed to be installable in parallel to such other OSes.
