can get a fresh test environment ready for any plugin in less than 2
minutes. The script is not really suitable for distribution since its
coupled to my OS environment (Ubuntu 10.04), but could be improved to meet
 that end.

Since I use Debian, this could not only be interesting but working
almost immediately for me too.

However, what I do not current have are scripts for populating the database
with tickets, or some databases that are populated. This would be useful,
for example, with testing the TracTicketsStatsPlugin (1). It would be nice
to have a database populated with some clearly defined tickets, so I can
easily check that the graph is correct (i.e. by knowing that X tickets where
 created on data Y).

Did you ever try TicketImportPlugin [1]? I already did some data
migration from MS Excel(tm) ToDo lists and the like, and it works well.
Populate your Trac with 1 tickets in less than 1 min, really handy.

BTW, I plan to co-maintain this within some weeks, request pending, will
sent copy here soon. I've already prepared patches for open tickets and
- - as always - i18n stuff is in my focus too. :-)

I'm not sure if your intent was to propose a project to meet some of the
needs I suggest here, but I've considered it might be worthwhile.

That would only be natural to document procedures and upload (free)
tools that we'll use for the task.

Yours

Steffen Hoffmann

I'll put on my task list for this weekend to do a quick cleanup of the script,
add a couple of comments, and then send it to you. I'd be interested to get
some feedback from you on other ideas on to improve the script and make setting
up the dev environment more productive. If you find it useful as well, and this
it is of general use, then we should probably go ahead and create a project
page for it.

That sounds perfect for what I'm looking to do. I'll take a look at that over
the weekend as well.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Hi.

There are people who would be happy to help, but they need an exact
list of things that should be done. It can be kept it in t-h.o wiki.

I'll try to compose such a list as soon as possible.

The volunteer(s) will get full SSH access to the (virtual) server that
trac-hacks.org is running on as well as to the PostgreSQL database used
 for the site.
Snapshot of repository and DB (without accounts credentials) will be
 more useful.

I'm not sure I understand the reasons you think this approach would be
more useful. Could you please explain it?

Bye, Mike

2010-12-06 Thread bobbysmith007
I'm not sure what I can do, but I would be willing to at least help test
/ debug.

I have migrated ~30-50 tracs in our project hierarchy through trac
versions .8-.12 and maintain ~6 plugins (none of which are used on
trac-hacks, to the best of my knowledge). I don't have a great deal of
time to devote, but I would very much like to see trac-hacks get to Trac 12

I'm not sure I want to take the lead on this, or even need SSH access, but
I'm willing to contribute where possible and I suspect based on previous
discussion threads that there is a small group of people willing to
contribute in various ways.
