[Therion] PocketTopo Exported data image import bug

I have also seen this happen when the numbering system for the different
surveys is not unique.

That is what happened for me when I imported your sketch into XTherion.

Just a guess. Check that PocketTopo is happy with the connectivity of all
the *.top files in the source folder. I have never had this problem, but
regularly mess up the station coord table in PocketTopo and it can only
partially draw the survey network or sketch. I imagine that this would all
need to be in order before a reliable export to therion could be made. It
can be easy to inadvertently delete the anchoring station coordinates, or
inadvertently create anchoring station coordinates that are mutually
exclusive/clash with each other when all of the files in a folder are
considered together (which is how PocketTopo considers them). I imagine
that might create the effect observed if it was not resolved prior to the
export.

[Therion] PocketTopo Exported data image import bug

2012-03-16 Thread Footleg
OK, my fault this time! I had copied various .top files off my PDA
onto the computer for the cave. I missed off the .top file which
contained the main cave centreline which all my other .top files are
attached onto. This results in the invalid therion export from
PocketTopo.

If I put my .top file in a folder on it's own and then open it in
PocketTopo then the export file is correct. But when in a folder with
other .top files which do not connect with the one I am exporting the
therion format txt file from then if messes it up.

  Check please the Toporobot manual about numbering of stations and of
numbering rules. PocketTopo follows these rules exactly.

http://www.geo.uzh.ch/~heller/toporobot/English/Manual/ToporobotMethod.html

it is in German, but with pictures.

There is new page of Toporobot, but it is still empty: www.toporobot.net

[Therion] PocketTopo Exported data image import bug

2012-03-15 Thread Andrew Atkinson
Not sure why but the xvi file lines 2 to 5 are

set XVIstations {
}
set XVIshots {
}

looking at my other data, this is where the legs and station should be.

Looking at the Stomps2010th.txt file lines 272 to 274 we have

PLAN
STATIONS
SHOTS

This is where the stations and shots should be, so it looks like it is
not coming correctly out of PocketTopo

Have you got the original top file. If so does this show up on
PocketTopo with the centre line.
Exactly the same happens with the other Matienzo Maze090722 that you
have (I have not sent it to the list as it is not my data)

For that file adding a new first line of
1.0 1.22 0 0 0
brought the centreline back on Pockettopo then exporting it and the
Therion import worked.

It would be interesting to know how you are making these files, also how
PocketTopo desides which station is at (0,0) or even if (0,0) is used
for the first station

[Therion] PocketTopo Exported data image import bug

2012-03-15 Thread Footleg
I do not seem to be able to get the attached PocketTopo therion export
format data file to import into the map editor properly. Using Therion
5.3.9.

The xvi either fails to be inserted, or appears without the survey
centreline and stations. I have not had this problem with other data
files. Could it be the overall size of this sketch?
