Hi BJ,

yep, that was the answer, thanks for that. I still can't look at code (in
general) and figure out for myself what it is doing. At least, not much.
I'm getting there though. Thanks again for your help.

Hegart.

Hi Hegart,

you have also renamed the css classes to non-defined values:

you need to put back the original css class name eg tc-tab-set in the
above and elsewhere

[tw] Converting Tiddlywiki Wikitext to Markdown

2016-01-27 Thread Leopold Bloom
I have 200+ tiddlers (1.87mb). It is completely text and there is no images
or any other binary files. I used Tiddlywiki Wikitext and after seeing that
there is support for Commonmark/Markdown

I want to use that from now on
.

Question: What is the easiest way to convert it all from Wikitext to
Markdown?

[tw] Re: [TW5] Tabs Macro - alt names for tabs

2016-01-27 Thread Hegart Dmishiv
I've almost got this working, but I may need some help with the final step.
I've copied the core *tabs* macro to *$:/_Macros/reftabs
*
and did a quick search & replace to swap all occurrences (case-sensitive)
of tab with reftab and it seems to be working okay. However, it defaults to
button view, rather than viewing the tabs as actual tabs (example

I guess this is a coding issue beyond my mere copypasta skills. Could
anyone point me in the right direction here please?

[tw] Re: TW5 (or TWederation maybe?) based on P2P websites network ZeroNet.io

2016-01-27 Thread Barter Sympson
Yes, the main thing about ZeroNet that websites in it work without any
central server, basically everyone can deploy own website with zero
infrastructure (hosting and domain) needed. When you visit a new zeronet
site, it tries to find peers using the BitTorrent network so it can
download the site files (html, css, js...) from them. Each visited site
becomes also served/seeded by you.

Here is Github page of the
zeronet, and here is documentation
 and FAQ
.

I'm not sure about being able to attend the hangout tomorrow, so if someone
mentions about TW in zeronet it would be perfect).

P.S. I'm not zeronet's developer, just its user.

[tw] Re: [TW5] Tabs Macro - alt names for tabs

2016-01-27 Thread Hegart Dmishiv
Again, I have worked this out for myself. Sorry for spamming up the forums
with my thoughts as I go. I created a shadow tiddler for
*$:/core/macros/tabs* and I modified line 7 of it to read...

<$transclude tiddler=<> field="tabcaption">

Now I just set a *tabcaption* field in the tiddlers that I want to use as
tab headings, and it doesn't touch the *caption* field at all. Have I
inadvertently caused myself any problems by doing this? I'm really not
confident yet with shadow tiddlers, or macros for that matter. ;-)

[tw] Re: [TW5] Tabs Macro - alt names for tabs

2016-01-27 Thread Hegart Dmishiv
Actually, this is still an issue for me. I've tried using the *caption*
tiddler field as suggested, and it works nicely for this, except that it
has other, more wide-ranging ramifications within my TW instance. It seems
that setting a *caption* will affect the tiddler's title as displayed in
lists, such as in my TOC and any other lists. So now, rather than having a
list that looks like this...

   - Notes about tiddler foo
   - Notes about tiddler bar
   - Notes about tiddler baz

... I now have a list looking like this...

   - Notes
   - Notes
   - Notes

That's not really very helpful. Is there some way to achieve what I'm
after, setting alternate names as the titles of tabs, without using the
*caption* field?

Hi guys,

As I'm recommending Tiddlywiki for people that are not familiar with any
coding, I was hoping to use only wikitext notation,
however using html, obviously, won't be a problem.

@Tobias The topic subject was not tagged with [TW5]. Guessing from its
creation year, 2010, it is pre TW5.
I should have noted. My bad!

Many thanks to Felix and Tobias!

All the best,

Hi Andrew,

One bit of advise, although, again mildly breaking backwards compatibility
— which could be remedied with a simple "migrate" button or instructions
that say "please copy the list from A to B" — I would not store the actual
favorites at the list field of the template tiddler. I'd rather put it into
a tiddler of its own with the entire purpose of storing the Favorites list,
e.g.:

*$:/plugin/ajh/favorites/list*

Best wishes,

Tobias.

[tw] Re: TW5 - Question on Lazy Loading

2016-01-27 Thread schlu . tech
Well... to be honest with you I have not. I understood this setting is to
access External Images.

What I am looking for is a workflow where I can import or drag and drop an
image file and then be able to then load this in a tiddler. The image
widget allows to set dimensions, alt text, etc --- everything works as you
might expect --- except for Lazy Loading.

>From the sounds of it; and after extensive googling; it looks like there
might be nothing I have done to reach this unwanted behavior. You just
can't reference imported images using [img[NameOfTiddler] and have the
images display when lazy loading is enabled.

Could someone who knows *please* just confirm the veracity of this
conclusion?

I like Tiddlywiki. I like the data entry the way it is --- but I don't want
to be typing html. I like the fact that I can use html --- helps me quickly
extend tiddlywiki to get around a niche limitation here or there but
this feels more like a bug.

Anyone know?

Tbh, I wouldn't have a clue as to how to use those fonts and then I was

[tw] Re: [TW5] Emoji One in TiddlyWiki ?

2016-01-27 Thread Matabele
Hi Tobias

The emoji font file includes references to the font set -- the font set
itself also has a size in the order of 4MB. The major saving is, therefore,
that only one font set needs to be loaded on each device, and only a
relatively small file included in each wiki. In addition, many new devices
will come standard with the emoji font set anyway.

Really like what you've done with emoji one -- makes the acquisition of a
few extra icons into a wiki straightforward, and until emoji are widely
supported, offers an interim solution. I think both options should be
offered -- those that can use the more efficient emoji font set should be
accommodated, and a limited number of svg's should be made available for
older devices.

Possibly, the group description should reflect that a tiny bit better.

In other words, you're talking apples when wanting to discuss pears.
What you could use for your desired outcome is html, e.g.:

hehe, emojis - this is beginning to look really fun, in the positive sense!

FWIW, this is how I imagined it

The smiley and the color dot are just buttons for the dropdowns, they don't
themselves change in appearence. But your use with an additional
smiley-dropdowns for favourites is probably a good idea. Maybe the smiley
for the full list could be usual :-) and the favourite list be the very
happy :-D

The hex code is the less pretty bit... but life is tough ;-) ...or, as
noted earlier, maybe the hex field could itself be what triggers the color
picker in some way, and skip the color dot eye candy.

Side reflection: The place where selection of icon and color etc *most *is
needed is probably during tag creation. At least while the main body of
tags is still forming in the TW.

Regardless, it's really fun to follow how your creation is improving!

2016-01-27 Thread Jake Dulivitch
The example you pointed out doesn't work:

#Some text
#Some text{{foobar{
List continue text
may be several lines long with
formatting and other wiki syntax
}}}
#Some text
#etc.

I'd like to indent several lines on one of the bulleted item and it would
have also two lines of code (some shell commands) like

#Some text number one
#Some text number two
   several lines of text
   that must be indented
   ```
   code line 1
   code line2
   ```
#Some text number three
#Some text number four

Would it be possible?

That’s a reasonable goal. Right now things are only set up to be able to do
that running under Node.js. There are more pieces that would need to be joined
together by a TW developer to be able to do it in the browser.

Right now, the problem is that external text tiddlers automatically load
themselves as soon as you open the tiddler to view them. That turns them into
an ordinary tiddler for the purposes of the next save of the wiki. The fix
would be a way to restore the external-text setting to any modified tiddlers
when saving the wiki.

You can experiment by navigating to http://tiddlywiki.com/, and then turning
off your wifi/network before clicking on the link to “Alice in Wonderland”.
You’ll see a tiddler tagged with "external-text” and a message that the content
is being loaded.

Best wishes

Jeremy.

[tw] [TW5] 5.1.10 new feature: External Text Tiddlers

2016-01-27 Thread vpl
Hi,

I discover that the new 5.1.10 may support, for the standalone TiddlyWiki
 HTML files, external text
tiddlers
My need is the following

I start having a big standalone TiddlyWiki that I use to access through my
mobile device (hosted on my web content provider)
I would like to split this content in several TiddlyWiki pages that I could
retrieve on demand from a "start panel" page for example.

How can I do that ?
The example in the 5.1.10 release notes is not self-explanatory (See Alice
in Wonderland
 for an
example.)

Thanks again for your help

Regards

Vpl

[tw] Re: [TW5] Simple tagging utility

2016-01-27 Thread Matabele
Hi Mat

OK -- I think I have a solution for adding a selection of emoji
:
-- currently, emoji have to be copied from the table into individual
tiddlers
-- you'll need to create tiddlers for the emoji you wish to use
-- and copy them over to your wiki
-- most of the emoji display in my environment (Chrome/IOS)
-- you'd best make your own selection from those that display in your
environment(s.)

Working on getting the macro to fetch the emoji from a field (other than
the text field) -- but currently, although I can get this to work if I
transclude into the text field of another tiddler, the references fail to
work in the macro :-(

regards
