2016-10-05 Thread sini-Kit
Now I have 3 excel files. 1. with images 2. with tiddlers 3. table
collecting path to images from folders on my PC

All this files contain macros. This macros converts this table to
tiddlywiki format and put this file to temp folder on C:\temp

This files I attach to this post.

 Hi! I use TW5 as CMS for making sites (on-line stores, blogs and so on)
 and today I start new project http://design4shop.ru/ (
 http://design4shop.ru/heeg.html)
 this site is about design of off-line non-food stores. I want to make a
 great collection of shops from all over the world and attach to them some
 fields with parameters: style, size, color, type so peple can select
 shop they like very fast.

 I have a great number of folders with pictures. Each folder contain
 3-10 photos for each shop. So my first proble was to use many EXTERNAL
 photos with "alt" tag and some info about this photo, and my second
 problem
 was to take titles of folders, automatically make shop tiddlers with this
 titles and automatically attach (by tag) external photos from problem 1.
 The only way I found was EXCEL . I download simple macros which make table
 with files and path to them. then using excel formulas prepare TW5 table,
 export it to html file, and then import this file to my TW5 site. This
 variant saved me lots of time, but may be it is possible to use
 node.js for this purposes?

 The next my idea was, that if TW5 will have more easy mechanism of
 working with many external pictures, it can be a good CMS for different
 collectors of coins, stamps or art. This people can save photos of their
 coins with different parameters. For example: gold, 18 century, Russia,
 and
 some text about this coin. And using filters + checkboxes (or
 search) quickly find photo in their collection. TW5 can become a kind of
 personal catalog for collectors.

2016-10-05 Thread Tobias Beer
Hi Thomas,

There is not quite a way to automagically identify markup in wikitext.
It all boils down to what the parser makes of your wikitext.
Entities would be but one problem issue.
What about any other WikiMarkup?

I'm quite certain: you have to be specific about
either *how* or *where* you set your marker.
You don't want no guessing.

Best wishes,

Tobias.

This looks very interesting! Could your solution do something like
– extract the first 200 characters
– check, if we are in an  and either cut before & or after ;
– trim whitespace and append " …"

If yes, could you provide an example for this too?

This is how designers would generate excerpts to make sure the snippets all
have about the same text length …

Kind regards, Thomas

Re: [tw] Journal/Notes Page for readers of TW ReadOnly vers. - Ideas sought. Access to Option provided to view & use.

2016-10-05 Thread John Newell
Hi Riz-

All are valued comments.
And you are right - the basics are achieved in what I have mapped out - and
you have addressed.

Tags ARE used in a few ways - check out the Spiritual Quest ebook which
provides an insight into much of what will be used elsewhere -
ReadOnly, different use of tags, navigation ( upgrading to the use of
FontAwesome, embedded fonts, audio, video, padlet etc)

No, there is no need for "ebook" tags - examples of tags *that work the
same as categories and tags within wordpress* : ( for the Directory site(s)
:

   - LOCATIONS : Suburb / township / postcodes
   - PRODUCTS / SERVICES : Food Service and supply, Accommodation,
   Entertainment, Sports, Retail, Relaxation, Trades etc
   - ALSO tagged " Eat | Drink | Stay | Play | Buy | Enjoy | Repair | etc
   - PREMISES : Winery, Brewery, Retailer, Hotel, Nightclub, Cafe, Spa,
   Sports Club, Social Club, NFP etc

2016-10-05 Thread John Newell
Hi "magev958" - I have seen that amazing reformat of TW. It has provided
me inspiration. Thanks. It doesn't suit my current formats as it provides
access to the "backend" which I do NOT want - as the integrity of the app /
ebook / site that it presents to users needs to have interaction but not
reformatting . would like to keep lines of communications open with you
as there ARE many elements I would like to ask you about. You and almost
everyone in this forum has far greater skills than I possess. I just have a
market and ideas that fufill their needs and TW can do so much..

[tw] Re: [TW5] Extracting Introductions From Tiddlers

2016-10-05 Thread PMario
Hi Tobias,

Nice plugin.

One example, that you could include. IMO it's the cleanest way, to use the
first 2 line breaks as a separator. Like so

<$list filter="[all[current]get[text]split:first[

]addsuffix[…]]">

//<>//

So the first paragraph of the tiddler will be used, without the need for an
"interrupting" element

just my 2€ents

John,

Hmmm, there were no direct questions in that comment. So I will try and reply
to my own assumptions on reading your last comment.
magillamax:

The Sidebar comment was just that - an observation that the finalised
tiddlywikis will all be without the sidebar. That is simply achieved within the
ReadOnly transference.

I can provide you my guides on how I achieve all elements within the ebooks I
am creating - as stated - better to have your direct email for that when that
time comes   ;-)

Sidebar Contents / Options are NOT used in any of my projects

I remember your last Ebook project had Sidebar hidden. Well, since you already
achieved that , I assume you do not need my inputs on how to hide sidebar
permanently for such a project.

Still for the sake of any noobs after me, here are two different ways this can
be achieved.

1) Create a new stylesheet tiddler with the following CSS code
.tc-sidebar-scrollable {display:none}

2) Hide the Sidebar as you would do normally. Then via advanced search, find
the tiddler "$:/core/ui/TopBar/menu" and remove the tag "$:/tags/TopRightBar"
from it.
This will basically hide access to button that will reveal/hide Sidebar.

Note: Second method is more flexible. If you are using that, you can have
secret buttons somewhere user cannot access which will reveal the Sidebar.

NoTimeStamp will usually be deployed - ie no date seen

Where? The timestamps in the subtitles can easily be hidden. As for the title
of New Journal appearing with Timestamp by default, you can change that. In the
test wiki I sent you, find the tiddler named NewJournal - which is a minimal
clone of the default New Journal button - and within it change the
title=<> value to anything you please to have a placeholder text, say
title="Enter your title here"

Tags ARE visible in other chapters & understood for their use ( see SQuest
ebook as example )

So I guess you do not want your chapters to have a tag called "EBook"?

Ok, so this is an issue. In a scenario like this, where tags are part of
interface, we cannot have a common tag based on which we can hide the controls.
A manual solution to this - ughh- is to specify each Chapter tag specifically
in stylesheet and hide the controls. But that is not at all a solution.

There is a theoretical solution to this, which is to apply styles based on
fields. If I understand it correctly, tags appear as class and fields appear as
attributes of the element in the TW html file. Based on this, I tried the
attribute selector function. Let us say, tiddler named "Chapter 1" has a field
called "fruit" with value "mango".
So If I use the syntax on the attribute selector

[fruit="mango"] {
font-size:3em;
}

or

div[fruit="mango"] {
font-size:3em;
}

It ought to work. It doesn't. I hope someone with a clearer understanding of
CSS or TW5 will come around and enlighten.

If you want to see Adding notes and bookmarking function in a little more
fancier environment, try https://ibnishak.github.io/hQp/
[https://ibnishak.github.io/hQp/]. Pick a chapter, then an author, under the
translation, there will be a hamburger menu which will enable the user to add
notes, bookmark that part, jump to the other parts of the chapter from there
and see the notes added regarding that specific part.

[tw] [TW5] Extracting Introductions From Tiddlers

2016-10-05 Thread Tobias Beer
Hi everyone,

Here's a little *How To* for:

Extracting Introductions From Tiddlers @ tb5

...using tobibeer/split  to
extract the desired content.

Two methods are explained for defining and extracting introductions:

   1. for *Introductions* being
   the opening lines to a tiddler,
   separated via something like

   2. for multiline *Summaries* / *Excerpts* / Introductions
   in an otherwise *hidden html comment*
   that you don't want displayed by default
   but use somewhere else to show
   an abstract of some other tiddler

Best wishes,

Tobias.
