[tw] Re: [Plugin] Dropboard 1.0.0 — Kanban like organization in the style of Trello using boards, lists, and cards.

2017-11-13 Thread Reid Gould
Peter,

There was also an HTTP redirect involved which could have been cached by
the browser. It's now working on my devices. If anyone else is reading, can
we get another party to confirm?

I ultimately decided not to use "caption" in favor of a new field
"shorttext", which is one of the text fields seen in the card edit
template. The main TiddlyWiki docs
describe "caption" as "The text to be displayed on a tab or button." On a
conceptual level, "shorttext" is a second field of content where "caption"
is more like metadata. In practice, cards tend to have more text than would
make sense by the above description, and the final straw was the decision
to support inline wiki styles which wouldn't be appropriate to store in
"caption" at all.
In a future version, I would consider adding display of "caption" to the
card, but it would be along side the current way "shorttext" display takes
priority over "title". Feel free to open a GitHub issue if you like.
If you want to hack in something to use for yourself, overriding
"$:/plugins/reidgould/dpbd/templates/view/CardMacros" is the place to start.
You can find more information

about "shorttext" in the User Guide.

Thanks Reid, I did ipconfig /flushdns. But it is still not working for me.
I am now up and running with DropBoard in my personal wiki, and I have the

One additional question. Is there a way to use a caption as the display

You can modify the $:/core/macros/tag shadow tiddler definition. In the
tag-pill-inner definition, find this part:
<$view tiddler="""$tag$""" field="title" format="text"/>

and change it to this:
<$view tiddler="""$tag$""" field="tagtitle" format="text"><$view
tiddler="""$tag$""" field="title" format="text"/>

Then, to override the default tag pill text (i.e., the title text), add a
field named "tagtitle" to the tag definition, and it will use that text as
the alternative to the tag tiddler's title text.

enjoy,

{{!!alt-title||$:/core/ui/TagTemplate}}

but that also just shows the current tiddlers name.

[tw] Re: How to list all tiddler-titles with the tags of a given tiddler?

2017-11-13 Thread 'Mark S.' via TiddlyWiki
What you want (per your description) is different than what that example
shows. What you may want is:

<$list filter="[all[current]tags[]tagging[]]">

Except that you mention "linked", so I still don't know if this is right.

Good luck!

I'd like to show a list of (linked) tiddlers which have (at least) the same

This example (stolen from http://tobibeer.github.io/tw/filters/#Examples)

<$list filter="[all[current]tagging[]]">

doesn't work anymore in TW5 5.1.14. Is there an other solution available?

[tw] Re: savertiddlers release candidate (0.3)

2017-11-13 Thread Uwe
BJ, I've seen, that you've provided release 0.5, installed it with Chrome
and Firefox 57.0 (from https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/57.0/)
and it works.

Your idea - to make the backup configurable in tiddlywiki - is better than
mine. Can you please give me the links to your developer-release (or are
the files under https://github.com/buggyj/savetiddlers/tree/dev/extension
the ones I'll need?)
and to the necessary plugin? So I can test it.

(The folder-name "tiddlywikilocations" seems a little bit long, because I
have a deep folder-structure thereunder. It would be nice to have it
configurable.)

A (hopefully; I don't speak native english) finetune for the text:

How to use

Your tiddlywikis must be located in a directory called
'tiddlywikilocations'. This folder must be created in the download
directory of your browser.
Enable backups:
Subfolder for tiddlywiki-backups:

Last but not least: Thank you very much for your engagement in developing
this addons!

[tw] Re: [TW5] My new Tiddlywiki shop with 1233 items. How to make it smaller and faster?

2017-11-13 Thread sini-Kit
Thank, you BJ. With your plugin tiddlywiki shop works fast. Can you explain
what it do?

var defaultFilter = "[!is[system]sort[title]]";
if (this.getAttribute("filter",defaultFilter)==
"[list[$:/StoryList]]") return ListWidget.prototype.bjgetTiddlerList.call(
this);
if (!this.bjcached) {
this.bjcache =  this.wiki.filterTiddlers(this.getAttribute("filter",
defaultFilter),this);
this.bjcached = true;
}

it adds [!is[system] to all filters I use? I hope in future TW5 edition it
will be build in zoomin.js

First of all: Welcome!

I don't know, if it's a good thing, that users need to be "desperate
enough" to start posting. Or it is just a sign, that TiddlyWiki is so well
designed, that it can be used for years, without the need to post here. ..
I'll go with the second option ;)

Long live "file protocol"! ... There will be several options, to use the
same workflow as with TiddlyFox. ... Not 100% the same, but imo close
enough that it doesn't break yours.

That's right. BJ did already publish a web-extension
 that you
can test. I'm working hard to publish my approach very soon. I want to have
a "backup options" that are similar to the classic "LessBackupsPlugin".

I think, you can still go with this approach.

I'll post a link to the beta FF plugin here, when it's ready to be
published ;)

have fun!

[tw] Re: Demise of FF TiddlyFox and my reluctance to tackle Node.

2017-11-13 Thread Leo Staley
Consider doing what I did when Firefox broke some of the features on
tiddlywiki classic, particularly "LessBackupsPlugin".

Firefox no longer allowed tiddlywiki to delete extra tiddlywiki backups.

So, I installed a portable, old version of firefox, entered gobblydygook
into the proxy settings so that this would basically be a semi-sandboxed
firefox that couldn't even connect to the internet, and voila, it works as
basically a standalone tiddlywiki app.

But of course, that's all it does.

If you're writing a novel, I might suggest Scrivener. Scrivener 3 is coming
out in the next few weeks, and it's everything I could ever dream. It's
more useful on Mac than on Windows, so you'll have to wait a bit longer for
the functionality to catch up. The 30 day trial version only counts days
that you actually use it, which is pretty awesome.

Re: [tw] Re: [TW5] My new Tiddlywiki shop with 1233 items. How to make it smaller and faster?

2017-11-13 Thread Jan

Hi Mark, Hi Sini
It is a great Idea to use a dictionary-Tiddler to store such data...the
problem I saw when thinking on this is that you can only relate two
values...and here for you would at least need three.
Name, price and imagelink. So we would need something like an
Arraytiddler or csv-Tiddler to solve this problem (...or am I completely
wrong in this?) I think this would be a great enhancement for all of us.

Hi Sini, I greatly like your designs...I would love to have an english
edition of your work.

Yours Jan

Am 12.11.2017 um 22:43 schrieb 'Mark S.' via TiddlyWiki:

Thinking out loud ...

Your biggest gain would be by reducing the size of your catalog.

Imagine storing each "tiddler" as a compressed entry in a data dictionary.

When a user clicks on link to an advertised tiddler that doesn't exist
yet, it would be constructed on the fly.

This would require a pretty-links parser that knows how to decompress
text (whatever algorithm you use).

Might be a crazy idea.
