2010-03-10 Thread AG_Brazil
Hi Sebastian,

sorry to say so but, about UserName, it happens with Firefox 3.6 too.
At least it happens with me.I'm already used to it.

  Sebastian,

I wonder if you're running into the same problem I did when I switched
to mGSD.  I was having problems with Save Backups and Auto Save
options no staying unchecked.  Turns out, in my case, it was not a
bug, but a design feature.  Here's the response I got from Simon when
  I asked about it.

  Click More.../TW/Tags/systemConfig

In there you can find MptwUserConfigPlugin

This is where save backups and autosave get switched on. So to change
them you should uncomment and adjust the code as required in that
  tiddler, then save and reload.

There is also MptwConfigPlugin, MgtdConfPlugin, and
MgtdUserConfPlugin. The 'User' versions of these are not updated when
you do an update, while the non-user ones are.

So, if you haven't done so already, look to see if there is a
  UserConfig line for txtUserName.

This is something we really ought to get in the wiki or help for the
  system.

   Chrome...

   any ideas ?

Re: plain Action Status? where is non-Next Action Status?

2010-02-28 Thread AG_Brazil
Hi Madison

I'm not an expert about GTD but I've been trying to practice for
about
last 3 months and I,ve been reading David Allen several times. I have
his Workflow Diagram stuck in my office's wall and I never heard
about this Action you're talking about. Unless you're talking about
those 2 minutes actions that you should do when Collecting. That is
not something to put on a list - just do it.
And I've been comparing MonkeyGTD (mGSD now) with many
other tools - each one I found - and that's the only one, except for
ThinkingRock, that implements GTD in a straight way.
It doesn't has potential, it's done! Maybe you should Review it.

mGSD 3.1.3 beta on Fox 3.6: I have read thru many blog group entries
 and not seen answer.
 1.  Where is the plain non-Next Action Status?     (not WaitingOn,
 Future, or Finished)
 2.  as described in a different gtd group (and in Allen's work):
..There are common Status labels/tags: Next Action, Action,
Waiting On, Some Day and Finished
..if you are waiting on a response, set it to Waiting On.
 Otherwise it’s an Action.
..And, if it’s the highest priority thing in a project, it’s a
 Next Action.
 3, in mGSD, when I +action, only:  [check-box finished} n .
 w  .  f,  Appear, with n=NextAction being the default.
 4. The Work/Process filters/reports also seem to just provide
 selections for Next Action(s).
 5.  Have I installed something wrong??  etc. What am I missing?  Is
 mGSD designed like this?
 6.  I can sort of see a work-around, by using w for next action as I
can get around waiting on; but it just seems like I am missing
 something.
 7.  I am reasonably GTD familiar from DA's books, paper system, and
gtdInbox (poor functioning for 100+  projects/references.
Keep up the good work, your system seems to have potential.

Re: Integrating estimated+actual time + statistics + due dates in MonkeyGTD?

2010-01-28 Thread AG_Brazil
You didn't say how big are your projects, what is your aim. For a
little one,
I mean to group a few related Next Actions, use natural sorting
capabilities
of mGTD; if you begin your task description with the due date, as
mmdd,
the actions in the project will appear sorted by date. And if you edit
the action
and write it's value, cost, whatever, as a note it will be shown as a
tiny
yellow post-it in the task line and you'll see it putting the mouse on
it.

Otherwise I agree with Andy as mGTD is not MS Project or so, it
doesn't
has capabilities for it.

Good luck

 Hello,

I'm currently evaluating MonkeyGTD. I like it's adaptability very
much, other desktop and web applications did not serve me well in the
past. As I'm not a programmer, right now I feel a little helpless
implementing some of my requirements to my personal GTD-system.

 1.
I would like to integrate estimated and actual time fields to actions
and be able to do some statistics in project context (total time
estimated total actual time for actions and subprojects). Reading the
MonkeyGTD wiki, this group, the blog and checking google didn't help
me out with that. The only thing in that direction I found was
 TaskMacro onhttp://tiddlyvault.tiddlyspot.com. Now I don't have
any clou how to integrate that in MonkeyGTD. I would warmly welcome
some hints or kind of a howto!

 2.
Concerning due dates I read about the approach to use ticklers for
reminding oneself of deadlines etc, but don't like that approach.
Instead I would like to be able to set a due date for actions or
projects via a calendar or via hand input. Is there any way to do
this, that I - as programming greenhorn - might be able to handle? I
don't fear modificating some system tiddlers like TiddlerButtons or
 whatever.

Thanks a lot for suggestions and hints.
